I've posted here about this issue a few times, but it doesn't seem to do much good.

This morning I was greeted by the rare and wonderous DOUBLE audio pop-up! I got the free MacBook Air audio ad in stereo because it came up as both the header and the side column ad on the same page. That was fun while it lasted. :mhihi:

The 'Return of the Ads' part 3. I love the double attack of ads, haha. Gotta love it.

It's been said about 8 million times but it seems no one pays attention. Or they really enjoy the ads.

Download Firefoxhere. Install it.

Then get the Ad-Blocker extension here.

No-script can be found here.

If you have more questions feel free to ask. I suggest you exploring the other extensions and add-ons, Firefox can do TONS of cool stuff for you.

If you have IE you can set your browser to prompt you when a page wants to use ActiveX or Scripting.

I just press no every time the prompt pops up and I haven't seen a single add of any kind since I've been on CL.

I've seen that no Adminastrator really looks at this forum to much, that's proboully why none of the suggestions and feedback come in action.

hmmm.... well, its not coming from the usual suspect, they are still behaving themselves. But there are a few more networks that's sharing the impressions. They are supposedly quality, but they don't give me the opportunity to micromanage their advertisers, so I'm running blind for them.

I paused one of them this morning, 7am CST. If anyone still sees (hears) that same ad, please report back here. If not, I'll assume they were delivering it.

If you can tell me the position on the page, and even if the backend code gives an indicator as to what agency is delivering it, that would be helpful.

Thanks--

CL

I don't know how it works here but advertisers will often pay a site owner based on site traffic, not how many views or clicks their ads get. As long as the site has traffic, advertisers will pay, I think.

I like controlling my net experience. I like choosing what I run on my machine.

I haven't heard or seen an ad in forever.

Nope, we were going to move this month, but we've had a delay.

Well, I'll assume those audio ads came from the network that I turned off, so I'll just leave them off for awhile. I'll give a heads up if I decide to try them again, but not before asking them again to filter all audio ads.

Thanks---
