BDG is Stepping Down

BDG is Stepping Down

Postby BDG on Wed Oct 22, 2008 7:29 pm

Someday, this was going to eventually happen.

I've been here for 5 years and it's time to bring an end to this run unfortunately. Simply put, I don't have time to administrate ClubLakers anymore.

In fact, I haven't had enough time to give it the usual 110% for a while now. However, I wanted to make sure this transition was executed smoothly. With the new site upgrade complete and a new season upon us, now is the proper time to turn the page.

I came here as the 28th registered member. To see this place expand to 12,000+ members makes me incredibly proud of the ClubLakers community. It's been a supremely gratifying experience to help build an online venue for all of our Lakers fans to interact together.

Filling my shoes is an obvious choice, someone who is more than well-equipped. That's none other than JSM, who will undoubtedly do an awesome job running this site.

I'd like to thank everyone that has been a part of this site, past and present. The most important thing is that CL has allowed us to unite as fans of the best organization in professional sports, the Los Angeles Lakers.

ClubLakers will continue to grow and prosper as it always has. I'll still stop by from time to time. Afterall, I'm going to need my fix of Lakers news and discussion.

My time here has been more than memorable. You, the members, are what makes this site the best around.

Thank you. Go Lakers.

Sincerely,
BDG

Your work here has definitely been appreciated. Wish you could continue but I'm sure we all understand a person only has so many hours in a day.

I'm sure I'm not alone when I say you were one of the best mods we've ever had and you did a great job as admin. One of my favourite members, when you do drop by I look forward to hearing from you. Take it easy bro.

Peace be with you my brother, I'll never forget the good times. Like when you tried to hotlink this pic and it came up as a nude Shemale. Unintentional of course. Man, still cracks me up to this day 5 years after the fact. Damn B, 5 years, where did the time go?

BDG,

I think i speak for every member thats been here any significant amount of time and even for those who are just getting familiar with this place when i say...

THANK YOU!

Thanks for the tireless effort, due diligence and sturdiness which we have come to expect from you. You, along with JSM and a very select few, i believe have made this place the "Go-to" site for everything Laker related.

The CL Staff has been top notch through the years and it always trickled down from the top. Simply put, this place is better because of the major part you have had in it.

So, again... Thanks BDG.

Thank for everything, and hope to still see you from time to time.

And thanks for banning Chicano. :) It really cleaned up the site.

I have a list of a few others if you'd like to see it. :man1:

Seriously though, you have been a major part of the foundation of this site, and all of the hard work of the staff has helped make it what it is. JSM is a very capable replacement and looking forward to seeing you around from time to time to post. :jam2:

Wow. CL just took a major hit, losing BDG. Thank you for everything you've done for this site, man. Your work and dedication to this site never went unnoticed. You were always my favorite member/mod/admin and always will be. I wish you the best of luck with your life outside this place and hope that you find the time to stop in every now and then and give your piece.

BDG - its been beyond a pleasure watching this site grow and watching fans flock to the site with you at the helm.

The site will survive but it won't be the same. JSM will do a fantastic job no doubt, but it is big shoes to fill.

I wish you luck in everything you undertake and do hope that you stop by more than often to rant and rave with all of us as we wind through this possibly historic year.

Great job BDG!

For what it's worth, the Lakers also clinched the Pacific Division, an achievement Bryant dismissed by saying "We don't hang divisions." No, only the big NBA championship banners are considered wall-worthy for the Lakers.

You're definitely not alone in saying that, I completely agree.

BDG - Your work and dedication to the site has been incredible and the CL community is better for it. I, for one, particularly enjoy the times hanging out at Summer League. It couldn't have been an easy decision, but from personal experience I can imagine the next step is a great feeling: being able to watch basketball and simply enjoy the game. Thanks for everything BDG!!
