Hey I was thinking with all the media talk lately in the off topic section I think it's time we have a "Media Lounge" basically another forum in addition to open court where posters discuss Movies, WWE, Videogames, shows, and music. This way we prevent alot of the flooding with the rap threads, wrestling threads, a thread for every videogame and movie and what not.

RealGM has done this and I think it's a great idea. We did this when the open court go to big to have sports discussion and made other sports so I think it could be a pretty good idea.

I think it's atleast worth a try. clublakers what do you think?

I think this was the fear everyone had inside of them when creating the Other Sports forum - that we would have to create a sub forum for every topic, including music, TV, video games i.e.

One question though, nicehair - if we make a forum for that - what different is it from OC, and what will be left of OC, itself?

We have too many forums as is.

Good Call and The Feed are useless.

Lakers picture and videos in separate forums? I think they could be combined.

Lakers trade rumors always go in LD. So why have that forum?

Hoops Gear has posts from April on the first place still.

Just because some forums are not active doesn't mean we can't spit open court to prevent flooding. Infact why don't we get rid of Hoop Gear and replace it with media lounge.

Look at how many media related threads are on the front page right now:

Quick 360 Advice Needed...
PS3 Users Thread-GT5 Prologue gameplay video
VMAs
Your favourite rapper
Ric Flair Quitting WWE is False
Rap Songs Mixed by Yours Truly (Updated 9/09/2007)
Zune vs Ipod
Ludacris Still Beefing With T.I.
50 Cent says "somebody's gonna get shot"
King Booker Quits WWE
Is MTV destroying American moral values? or...
Apple Unveils New iPod
Bad Movies You Can't Help But Watch
Live action DBZ movie gone into production...
CL Movie Thread (1st post for summary)

I don't know what there is to "fear". I mean we have a real active off topic and I think it's time we make it a little more organized, like I said REalgm did it and it worked fine. And like I said it would be a way better use of forum space than "Hoop Gear" "Good Call" "The Feed" even "Purple Carpet"

I honestly dislike the idea simply because I want to go to the Open Court and talk about anyhting non-Lakers related, I still dislike the Other Sports forum in the first place.

I like having a lot of threads and discussions in the open court section. If we divinde threads we can also have Politics/News/etc etc.

I think we should keep Open Court like it is.

agreed, though i like the other sports forums as you dont have to fish the threads up from the depths of open court. things seem to be working well as they are...
