How do you guys like the new template?

post ideas, suggestions, critics, praise...whatever...

wait untill its completely finished tho (probably monday)

I know we do have a thread about this in our announcements...just thought some people might be coming here with ideas/post regarding the new form style.

It looks sweet! but I seem to have trouble with the smilies selection on opera... other than that it looks awesome!

Nevermind, I had java turned off.

it looks really cool. really modern. i like it.

To be 100% honest, I absolutely hate it.

It's just so... tacky.

i think it look disgusting. no seriously. no kidding. i like the old one because its so easy and clean..nowadays when i browse through the thread, the post seems to be all cramped up together and difficult to see.

My suggestion would be - try to make the post headers smaller. The old look had the headers not interfeer with the reading process, now it catches too much attention.

I don't really like it very much.

I've never liked the grey background with the purple.

i think it looks good, but like others said, move the poster info to the left and it'll be gravy

It's nice, but I'd love to have the old one back. It was way clearer than this one. Too many details and other graphic thingys.

no neutral colors, hard on the eyes, a bit of an overload, tacky.

just not very well done - but its not like the last one was much better.

guys need to tone it down a bit.

Move posters info to the left. People read from left to right. I like to know who said something before I read it.

Oh, and the site taking me all the way to the bottom of the page everytime I click on something started as slightly annoying and is now driving my bonkers.

I definitely agree with Kingsama that the logo should be bigger.

At first it felt so unfamiliar that I didn't care for it.

I was very glad you were able to move the user info back to the left. Like others said, I like to see who said it before I read it. Just reality. If I know you stink, I'll pass.

Besides that, takes some getting used to, but I understand that in order to have some of the new feature set, things needed to move to the newer version. I've been checking out the same version with something I am working on, and I am darn impressed with how much you guys are able to customize stuff.

Seriously, most people have NO idea how much work goes into this stuff.

It's growing on me. The people make the site, and I'm finding it easier to find the people after a few days, so it's all good. I do like lighter colors ala the parquet floor we had awhile back, but do understand that it may have taken a TON of extra work on graphics. Lots of consideration goes into all of these changes,

and if there is anything I have seen in the past,

CL staff is very responsive and carefully thinks out changes they make. I give it a B+.

Thanks for keeping the site enjoyable to visit. No one likes change, but everyone adjusts.

everything has been moved back to the right

can't express how much I dislike that, but I suppose there is a reason for it. One thing is for sure though. It isn't what was causing the jump to the bottom of the page, as that is still happening.

Also noticed a different variation of the logo is being used, and actually think the other one looked better.

Now that I have adjusted to the new version of CL I have my final verdict... I really like it. Now the stuff is back on the right, IDK why, but I am sure with time it will be back on the left. I love the new features too. I think it gives the user much more control over lots of things. Good work guys.

Why does it constantly bring me to the bottom of the page ? I feel like Rodney Dangerfield walking into an elevator: basement?
