Outbox and Sentbox

Outbox and Sentbox

Somehow I have a couple messages in my outbox that I'm pretty sure have not been sent. How do I get messages from my Outbox to move to my Sentbox so I know its been sent?

And what is the purpose of the Outbox?

Pms move from the outbox to the sentbox once the person reads the pm.
