Posting on CL overheats my laptop

Postby Helljumper on Sat Feb 25, 2012 5:54 pm

So I don't know if this is just my laptop or not (I have a Macbook), but I've noticed this a lot lately and it's starting to annoy me. Whenever I try to post on CL, as I'm on the screen to input the post, my fan starts getting really loud and my laptop gets really hot. It's gotten to the point where if I have to make a post that will take more than a minute to write, I type it out on Word and then just quickly copy and paste it onto CL to avoid having to deal with this.

For some reason, I have a feeling it's something about the damn smilies on the side that my computer just can't process well :man10:

How old is your macbook? Is it an aluminum one or plastic? I am testing this out with my macbook pro right now (aluminum), and I am not having any issue w/ heating.

It's a 2010 aluminum Macbook Pro.

If this isn't something others are experiencing, then I think it's probably something specific to my setup. At first I thought it might be my laptop, but now I'm starting to think it might be my browser. I'm gonna try using Chrome and see if the same problem persists.

Maybe your laptop loves CL so much it's getting turned on. Just sayin'...

I have a bare bones HP laptop that I got because it was cheap this last Black Friday and it has no problems with CL. So I don't think it's the site specifically doing this to your laptop, I often have like 10 CL tabs open at ones too if I'm browsing multiple sections and trying to catch up on LD posts. :mhihi:

Never had this happen to me on any computer/laptop, but hell it could be a combination of the smilies and the sigs. The 5 tabs from Youporn you also have open at the time might have something to do with it as well.

Does your laptop have a protective case cover? If so that maybe your overall issue. I browse CL just fine with my Macbook pro, never had any issues, unless of course a trade happens and CL goes down :mhihi:

I think you spend too much time in the "college girls/party" thread :man12:
