Redirect to itunes

You guys have some kind of advertisement running that when i browse the site on my iphone, it occasionally redirects me (no click) to itunes to download a game called Candy Crush. I really think you should reconsider this strategy.

It is completely intrusive from an experience standpoint.

Very strange, I'm not experiencing this browsing from my iPad.

Yeah i dont have an ipad so im not sure if it happens there. But it is random, it redirects me to an ad link which redirects to itunes to download candy crush.

If there is more information i can give you such as the ad link url, i will provide it if that helps.

I noticed it yesterday on my iPhone. I thought it was because I was accidentally clicking something. Let me see what's going on.

Btw, this still happens to me on occasion on my iphone5 here. Redirected suddenly to candy crush saga @ itunes, and redirected to some other thing like badoink or something. Horrible experience.

This has been happening to me lately as well. Always on my iPhone and never on the PC. But I've notice it also happens when I click on an image from various different site. Thought I was alone and that my iPhone has malware.

Really wish it would stop. And it isn't even on click, it occurs once the page has loaded.

Well it's not just our board. Google the problem and seems like various of different boards are having the same issue. Not sure what's going on but it's helluv annoying.

I get directed to that Candy Crush thing on my IPhone when I'm on regular Apps on my phone. Not even the interwebz.

Still happening 3 months after I brought it up. *sigh*

Now i'm getting redirected from stlogger.com as well. This only happens on CL. Cannot replicate it on any other site I frequent.

This is getting ridiculous. Candy crush is one thing, but now I was redirected via this strlogger.com url which tried to download a porn app called BadOink.

Completely unacceptable to allow advertising from porn sites. There was no age verification in the process either, a big no no. CL, you are potentially sending users under the age of 18 to download a porn app.

What will it take to do something about this? Candy crush is one thing, hawking porn is another come on thank god I wasnt ising my work phone jeezus

JGC: I'm not sure what we can do; there are some things that we can clearly do, like ban people who consistently break the rules. There are some things we can't do - like change what advertisements are appearing on the site. Only one man has that power. Know that I've messaged him twice about this problem. He looked into it, thought it was fixed, but it wasn't. Then I went on vacation. Came back, saw it wasn't fixed, messaged him again.

Thanks for the update. Sometimes, even just saying "we're still working on it" is better than just saying nothing at all so appreciate it.

Sorry for the tone of my message but at the time I was browsing the site in a non-private place and was redirected, from CL, to download a porn app. To say I was livid, would be an understatement. We need to be able to trust that CL can be safely accessed without having to worry about being subjected to inappropriate, NSFW material and not because I'm personally against it. It's one thing to be redirected to download Candy Crush and a whole other thing to be redirected to download a Porn App that had ACTUAL nudity on the app screenshot that appears.

They are both absolutely unacceptable user experiences IMO, but the latter could even be a legal issue if under age kids are being redirected, by design (in a sense), from CL to a porn app featuring nudity without any age verification.

I know there's only so much you guys can do. But there is almost nothing, I, and the other affected CL members can do. All we can do is continue to voice our displeasure, raise the concerns, and maybe stop accessing the site unless we're in total privacy just in case we get redirected to download porn again.

I don't think it's an app though. Just porn spamming.

Well, no, it was an app. Let me explain what happens here...

Only on CL (although I've heard this happens on other forums as well) ... once the page loads, it redirects me to some URL that starts with strlogger.com.

That URL, in turn, redirects me to a URL that launches App Store on my iPhone and prompts me to download BadOink which is a porn app within the App Store (which, I would suspect would eventually be taken down but that is beside the point).

Occasionally, there is also another redirection to download Candy Crush. It's just a really bad experience overall regardless of whether it is Candy Crush or a porn app.

Not sure if this has been addressed but it has probably been the longest period of time I have been aboe to browse the site without getting redirected so if it has been resolved, then thank you CL team.
