Thread Restrictions?

Honestly I'm one of the posters who could care less about the number of useless threads in LD and now the Trade Rumors forum. But I was thinking, seeing as there are numerous locked threads and numerous 'should/why did/didn't the lakers get this guy' threads, you could add some sort of time restriction before new members were allowed to make their own threads.

I know it's bordering segregation, but it would make the job of the mods a lot easier I imagine. People should get a feel of what kinds of topics are appropriate and reasonable for discussion before posting their own. I'm assuming this isn't going to be a hot idea because we're all about promoting growth and the community here at CL, but in turn it would increase the quality of the site.

Quality over quantity riiight?
