With Camby gone, Denver only has Nene, Kenyon Martin and Steven Hunter to play the low post. The Nuggets are looking at signing a former Nugget, center Francisco Elson, according to his agent Calvin Andrews. Other teams eyeing Elson include Oklahoma City, Charlotte, New Jersey and possibly the Lakers.

There has probably been an exploratory contact with his agent in case the Lakers choose to let Ronny go. Mitch has probably made similar contact with half a dozen or so available backups for the 4-5 spots.

Agree but just trying to provide a link to something that mentions Lakers on otherwise slow week (month for that matter). I don't expect this to happen, but it does mention Lakers and thus the only reason for posting it.

It seems like we're interested in every player in the league. :man11: I think these local columnists just throw out the Lakers to generate web hits knowing full well bunches of Laker fans will look at any article they write if the Lakers are mentioned. They're not stupid. Would the droves of Laker fans look at his article if it merely mentioned the Nuggets were interested in bringing back Elson?

SG is right...

somerandom guys just throw some names out there to generate interest and kinda show that they got information (nobody cares if its bogus, its important to have tidbits that nobody else has lol).

most real trades and signings come out of the blue anyway...

see Gasol, Camby, ...

only few became public before it was done (Kidd, Shaq, ...)

Because we need a back up PF, not another back up C.

Besides, I believe the Lakers intend on bringing Mbenga back - and I like him better than Kwame. He’s younger, longer, and has actually shown improvement in his time with us - something Kwame never did.

I cant believe how many idiots have forgotten how terrible Kwame Brown was. i feel sorry for that guy but he was possibly the worst player on our team since Mark Madsen minus Mad Dog's heart.

He couldnt play defense, he couldnt handle a ball. Forget it, he was terrible and i will kill something if he comes back

On topic, sooo... sure he gets posterized quite plenty, but at least the dude can catch the ball, block some shots, gives you way more heart & hustle then Kwah-May ever will.

SAS have zero interest in Elson?

He was a starter for the SAS for a while.

I know he fell out of favor and replaced by Oberto but they don't even want to offer a minimum deal?

Strange. I wounder if he just Pi$#% off Pop?

You're basing that statement on the lack of a YouTube video?

he was the best defender after who? do any of you realize that the only proven solid defenders on the team is Kobe and Fisher(to a lesser extent)?

Kwame was the best by default and even if Mbenga does get dunked on, his drive and willlingness to do better make him a fantastic back up in comparison to Kwame Brown

You don't have to worry about the Nuggets anymore. A team that playds no defense. Trades the only guy that plays any

Our roster is pretty full, but I'd offer Elson a vet min. The guy has a nice mid-range shot and can block shots. We're getting thin up front now that Ronny is gone and Odom may be next.
