LO for Shaq?

LO for Shaq?

Scroll down to the bottom of the page to see a Lakers-Suns trade idea. Would you do Lamar Odom for Shaquille O'Neal? Personally, I'm on the fence. I probably wouldn't, seeing as it would draw unnecessary media attention and may capsize the season. Thoughts?

It would be crazy if O'Neal returned to Staples. I can see the SI Cover now...

do it lo, sasha, mihm, mbenga for shaq is a deal. we need a big man. i believe shaq wont jeporadize his reputation and career as well as kobe to start up old times when its already dead. they be at the all star game together plus phil never disliked shaq his book is case and point. so bring em in lets win another 3 peat and cement shaq, kobe, and phil's legacies

lo is gone anyways after the season. lukey is not playing his best and mihm n dj are table scraps.

you get shaq back here and your lineup looks like...

Shaq
Pau
Ariza
Kobe
Fish

with bynum eventually coming back and gradually getting his minutes back from the bench... smells like a storybook championship to me.

no i don't want shaq back unless he takes vet minimum and is the waterboy. he also has to be a rookie for his veteran season and he has to bring the team donuts.

There is no way Shaq gets from the Donut shop to practice and there's any left for the rest of the guys.

NO WAY!!! Lamar Odom's game may be absent from time to time but he wants it more! Shaq is a freakin chemistry killer! All he'll do is piss off Kobe again and all hell will break loose. Let's not forget one important detail also. One of if not the biggest problem of the Lakers defense is defending the pick n' roll. Teams actually purposely run the Pick n' Roll against Shaq because they know he refuses to defend it. Why would we want someone like that? The only reason I can think of is if we get him basically without having to give up anything. Lamar Odom would be way too high a price to pay for Shaq. NO WAY!!!

I love the big man, but his day has come and gone. He will be nothing more than flashes of his former glory from here on out, but that won't be enough to have replaced Odom.

Our main competitors made no moves, and we made minor ones. I can live with this. Here's hoping that Baby B makes it back befo the playoffs!

No way I would want Shaq back in LA .LO, Bynum, and Gasol are awesome and the hustle. I am tired of watching shaq barely getting up and down the court and shotting free throws off the front of the rim.

This coming from the guy with the name, Tradeodom. HORRIBLE trade. You'd probably trade LO for a bag of chips if you had the power.

If LA traded LO for Shaq, I don't know what I'll do. If this Laker team was the same team between 04-07, Shaq wouldn't want to come here. Now that we are winning, he wants to come back. No thanks.

Me too. Lamar stepped up big when it counted. For all the people that are crying that he's inconsistant, he's a bench player now and is not counted on doing as much as before. So I will gladly take 7 points and 7 rebounds a game from him, as long as it means a win. If stats didn't mean anything, then no one would be getting on Lamar.

Odom played like a warrior through that shoulder injury. No doubt he'll continue to show up when we need him. A bench role player is there to help fill voids each night. If Bynums gets into foul trouble he's in there to rebound. If someones undersized to guard he comes in to cover that player. It's very hard to stay consistant when you don't know what your role is night in and night out. Shaq is no longer the Shaq we knew in L.A. and the respect we give him now is to the memory of the player he once was. That doesn't mean we owe him squat now, he's been a jerk and doesn't deserve anything from this entire organization including all of the fans.

Let him retire on a scrub squad somewhere he deserves that.
