Herald-Zeitung: Horry interested in L.A.?

Postby jBL on Sun Jul 27, 2008 7:08 pm

He wouldn't be bad if we expect him to be 15th man and a mentor.

We need Horry's atitude. That swagger and proffesionalism we still kinda lack. If we sign someone it has to be a point guard or big man at this point.

For a minimum contract I really don't see how it could hurt.

A lot of your assertions that he is done could be premature...seeing as he wasn't supposed to be playing in the playoffs but he tried because he has that much heart.

Now, if he really is done, then we won't be losing any money and can just cut him if worse comes to worse.

We could always use someone as smart as him and with his personality.

Don't believe me?

Look at D-Fish's impact last year.

I'd definitely take Horry for the minimum. He wouldn't play in every game, but he'd definitely make the playoff roster. We all know what he's good for in the playoffs.

it'd be great if he can also take out half of the suns team in the playoffs too.

I'd love to see 'ol Rob in Purple and Gold again.

Great off the court, and he'd be great as a backup in the playoffs.
If this is his last year, I'm sure he'll work extra hard.

He's an awesome veteran and if I recall, isn't he friends with Kobe? That would be good to have now that Ronny's gone.

Player coach? He could be great for guys like Ariza and Vlad if he'd be willing to teach. Fish has done some major things to improve Farmar. Could Horry do the same for these guys? Heck, Odom could benefit if he is still around too. If he'd accept that role I could be into the idea.

It really isn't for me, especially the way he ended with us and then jumped ship to SA.

Count me out.

I'd pay him the minimum to clothesline/choke/punch/etc. turds like Scalabrine, Perkins and Boozer...

Personally I hate him.

But I think he can bring some intangibles in similar but different ways that fish did. Plus we need a big and he has tri experience and he's cheap. Look what adding a simple role player like fish in the offseason did for us last year.

Umm actually we were the ones who didn't resign him.

I'd say yes for super CHEAP. And I do want to bring Kwame for backup C. I say we get them and were set. Odom/Artest situation aside.

I'd bring back Horry. He might not be as productive on the court as he used to be, but surely he will be a helpful veteran presence for the team off the court.

If i remember correctly, Horry was gonna sign with either SA, Houston, or Dallas because he wanted to be in Texas to be closer to his sick daughter.

As much as I love the man, this would be a mistake. His career is 100% over. If anything, him having interest in us shows that we are insanely close to a title, because after all, that's the only type of team Horry would go to at this stage in his career.

He's washed up, but if he did come he would play a marginal role.

But then again he does know the system, and is pals with Kobe.

no thanks. I would rather sign an SPL player and give him a shot to improve instead of adding dead weight for a year who just wants to chase a ring.

Hell no. My main concern is that not only that Horry might be done but that Phil will completely overplay him due to his experience.

with all the big shots he's made for us there is no reason why I wouldn't want him back. He knows the tri, he's the kind of vet that phil culos and frankly I don't care if he's chasing another ring as long as it's with the LAKERS.
