Herald-Zeitung: Horry interested in L.A.?

Postby Tradeodom on Mon Jul 28, 2008 12:06 am

with all the big shots he's made for us there is no reason why I wouldn't want him back. He knows the tri, he's the kind of vet that phil culos and frankly I don't care if he's chasing another ring as long as it's with the LAKERS.

That's correct

Horry will be the replacement of Ronny?

I know what the semantics of the situation were, I was speaking about the missed 3 in the 2003 WCF and then ending up on the hated Spurs team.

Don't count out big shot Rob, he has a few daggers left up his sleeve. He could've did this to Boston for us....

He didnt do that for the Spurs this year. If fact Horry was their Luke Walton this season (injured, overplayed, negative everytime on the court, etc...)

He can be a backup 4 for cheap.

His stats can match Ronny's at the least, and it wouldn't suck to have him aboard again. however, its tough to get around the sentimentality of it. When all is said and done, I would expect the Lakers to pass.

CL-ers seem divided... I'm not counting Big Shot Rob out on this one.

I'd take him back, there isn't much out there anyway.

You guys did watch him basically sabotage the Spurs in the WCF, right? And this was after playing only 45 games in the season due to injury and averaging around 13 minutes a game. I like Horry as much as the next guy, but he's done.

I could see him filling the John Sally role on this team. Vet with 7 rings, knows the offense and plays a position you lack depth. Could help Pau & Josh Smith find their spots in practice.

I'm in for the min.

Nostalgia must be setting in with both Horry and members here.

I appreciate everything Horry did for us, but he is done. He has no business being on a NBA roster next season. The only reason the Spurs kept him around last year was for his post season heroics and as he proved, he can't even bring that magic to the table any longer.

FA big men I would consider before Horry: Doleac, Dunston, Elson, Foyle, Magloire, Mourning, Ratliff, Richard.

All will be commanding around the same money. Elson get a few more bucks. And I don't really see Mourning playing anywhere but Miami but I'd at least make the call.

I'll take Horry in a heartbeat, even if he couldn't play, I'll send him in the game just to dish some elbows and cheap shots. :man10:

if we are going to get a bench warmer why not rob. these guys dont bring anything to the table if they are sitting on bench. rob does with his rings and experience

^ Because those guys can actually play and contribute this season. We can get by with the frontcourt we have, but we could use some depth.

Signing a player for 20 post season games is absolutely idiotic.
