It would be a stretch granted but...100 some odd million dollars and still the pacers go no where is not cool in a bus. since .. ask dr buss when you have to take a 30 mill a year player out the game because he could cause you to loose is not cool. Yes, and it wasn't Mitch who said it. It was someone from another forum with "insider" info who described the guy the Lakers are planning to go after as a "disgruntled all star not in the playoffs".

NO WAY Indiana does any of those trades. Bird would be making us contenders, and they'd have the same problem we had - too many Swingmen:
Butler, Artest, Lamar, Jackson, Jones, George

You say Lamar can play PF in the East. The Pacers are looking for a title. What happens when Lamar faces the Wallace Brothers or Tim Duncan?

We got a better chance getting KG then JO.

We don´t expect Indy to help us but themselves. OK JO is a great loss but Odom, Butler are not garbage specially in the east AND Grant will be very valuable in 18 months. They can get rid of some bad Contracts AND JO is making BIG money. If they feel they are not contenders they might try to get rid of such a max contract in terms to retool the team.

I read this thread with intrest. One little comment forget any idea of Brian Grant in the trade . No way the Pacers want his contract for a year let alone 2 years. Grant is owed $30 mil for 2 seasons and even in last year of his deal is nearly 16 mil contract will not be very tradable.

Lamar Odom , is a player Larry Bird likes . But in Jermaine , you are talking probably the 2nd best big man in the east.

Another little note for the next 5 years Jermaine actually will make more each season than Kobe. How would Kobe react to that?

There has been talk here that one of the 4 - JO , Artest, S.Jackson or Tinsley will be moved this summer.

JO , would have the most value in a trade. He's only 27 when next season starts , he has a 20 ppg and 10 rebounds per game average over the last 4 years .

But personally I don't see the Pacers trading a player they feel is the franchise player and team leader.

Bender is O'Neal's best friend on the Pacers. But I just don't see them trading JO.

If the Pacers were to trade JO , I think the Lakers would have to accept Bender , and Croshere and/or Pollard's contract too. You are looking at a minimum of 30 million for next season, 39 mil if its both Croshere and Pollard.

You figure Odom and Butler are Lakers 2 most valuable trade pieces , so both would probably be required to acquire a 27 year old , 4 time All Star like O'Neal.

That alone still leaves you 2.5 mil short of matching JO'S salary before then having to match Bender and Pollards or Croshere's.

Pacers already have 3 point guards , so I don't see intrest in Atkins.

Its possible something could be worked out , but I think its highly unlikely you see Jermaine as a Laker next season.

As for disruntaled All Star , Jermaine has never expressed one word of being unhappy here.

Perhaps its a misconception of those outside L.A. but most see Kobe as an ego driven athlete.

So, since Shaq was moved its thought that makes it KOBE's team, that said I thought perhaps someone making even slightly more might upset him. That why I put how would Kobe react to that?

Jermaine , perhaps will never be the team leader Bird has envisioned him to be here in Indy but I really don't see a trade to the Lakers.

In all honesty I could see a Clipper trade Brand and something for JO , before I can see a Laker one. Just my thoughts .

Is BSPN like ESPN for a specific area????

If it is than trust me i would rather trust ESPN's word cuz their more reliable (abc owns) and they have a better website

Trust me call change channels watch sportscenter their is a diffrence.
