I'd prefer Bruce Bowen if he is waived, but I love Grant Hill too.

Would be a huge upgrade over Luke & a decent backup plan if we lose Ariza..

How can the lakers sign Grant Hill when they only going to carry 13 players max? They also want to sign Ariza, Brown and Odom.

At first when I clicked on this thread I was think to myself, man!, I don't really want to sign an older player who I know has all the class in the world but is getting up there in age. But after reading a lot of your guys' posts and seeing that he shot 52.3 fg% last year has made me actually really want him if we can't keep Ariza. Yes, signing all 3 of your free agents plus Hill would be fantastic, but I just don't see it being possible with Mitch wanted a 13 player roster at most.

thinking about this makes my mouth water... Grant Hill is a player with a tremendous basketball IQ that was on the way to the hall of fame that would fit perfectly in the triangle. He was part of the one of the biggest plays in NCAA basketball while at Duke.

He is a very legitimate 2 and 3 and could shoulder the responsibilties of a starter if need be. I say if trevor doesn't get his act together just do what you can to resign Odom and pursue FA SFs such as grant hill or jamario moon via FA.

He can be the new Ron Harper. I'm aboard with this.

matt barnes over hill, imo. younger, maybe cheaper, better shooter from distance. let the c's worry about hill's durability and lack of a three point shot.

this isn't to say i wouldn't take him; he's just not my first option.

barnes is unreliable. grant hill can be a consistent 3rd scoring option on this team. subtract two-four years of playing from his legs. grant hill is young for his age. he's healthy and ready to play. father time has been very nice to him. injuries are another subject lol.

only if it is for the minimum

if we lose trevor i'd rather use MLE on maybe outside chance at matrix or artest

But realistically speaking , id rather want childress, matt barnes or williams.
as they are younger and more athletic

So if it's for minimum i'd be more than happy

Honestly, we probably will offer the MLE to every quality SF out there if Trevor leaves.

Ditto to whomever said Hill can be our new Harper.

Except I think Hill has a better all-around skill set.

we don't need another ron harper type, we have fish

grant hill was the perfect triangle player, about 15 years ago. we can't be spending money on him, he's not a solution if trevor leaves

the vet's min is what, about 1.2M or so? essentially, that costs us 2.4 due to the luxury tax.

if we can get rid of ammo, or someone else's salary, sure, but i'd rather drop another 1.2M in the Ariza bucket instead.

Assuming everyone comes back, i dont' see where hill would get minutes.

I definitely don't want him as a replacement for Ariza or as a starter but he could really help our bench.

Hill would be good in this system. Off the bench... terrific.

I thought GHill was done with injuries years ago, but has proven durable lately and played all 82 games - I also remember him still having spring in his legs and still able to get out in transition.

Perfect insurance policy off the bench who shouldn't cost much because he's made his money, might sign for vet min or close to it.....
