much like the barry/sasha situation, good backup option.

though i agree that thomas looked done by the end of last year. i actually think kwame might bring more of what the lakers need at the backup big spot.

Kurt Thomas would be a nice, steady addition to our bench mob.

I wish it wasn't Ronny or KT, it's all because of the luxury tax. Regardless of what Ronny does, I would want Kurt on this team. He would be a great addition to the frontcourt. He can play PF and C, play physical D, and isn't a liability on offense...that J is smooth. He and DJ could be a fearsome defensive monster in frontcourt

Pau/Ronny/KT
LO/Vlad/Luke/Yue
Kobe/Ariza/Crawford

NBA Quotes:
Alonzo, winning the DPOY:"I thank my teammates for letting their men blow by them."

Shaq:"I made a 1,600 minus 800 minus 200 on the SAT, so I'm very intelligent when I speak."

Chick Hearn:"The game's in the refrigerator. The door's closed, the light's out, the eggs are cooling, the butter's getting hard, and the Jell-O's jiggling."

I'd love to get him for the express purpose of roughing up guys like PJ Brown. Never mind that he brings all the things the Lakers lacked last year.

I think Kurt would be a great addition to the team. Just the type of veteran we could use. He still plays solid defense and has a nice jumper. He's not going to give us 30 minutes a night, but we don't need him to.

I agree 100%. Might even be best to get him instead of overpaying to get Posey.

San Antonio Express: The Spurs have expressed interest in bringing back some combination of Kurt Thomas, Brent Barry, Michael Finley and possibly even Robert Horry. Of those four, Thomas is probably most critical to the Spurs’ plans for next season.

With former first-round pick Tiago Splitter opting to re-sign with his Spanish League club, the Spurs are in need of bulk on the front line. That, combined with a relatively weak free-agent class of big men, would seem to make re-signing Thomas a priority.

Thomas has received interest from other teams — most notably Miami and the Lakers.

Even though I think he has not much left to offer, if Kurt is smart he'd sign with us, we're gonna win it all next year. We'd have definite playing time for him as well.
