Any news on how he did today? I can't honestly believe the Lakers even dare look into him.

LOL!

I think Tractor is just coming in to be camp meat. That's it. Nothing more to it.

They have a couple of updates at the paper now. ELton Brown also worked out. Traylor did pretty well apparently

doesnt sound like your guy had a workout. tractor isnt that bad. plus he could wear down guys just trying to push that big body around. you must admit that for a big guy he is skilled. all we need is a guy to come in and play the enforcer role. i think he can. what is mata's actual size 6'9? brown?

Mata is about 6-9 and Brown 6-8 or so. Mata was listed 6-9 240 on LA summer roster. The Lakers are trying to sign a cheap big man who can play PF and C and get 4-5 minutes per game and practice time. Not like they are going to get some great player so I don't see what it hurt to give Traylor a non guaranteed contract.

KB24 What do you think about James Augustine? Orlando let him go. Is he someone you think LA should look at for cheap option? JSM or anyone else can answer this too. I know he isn't much but as I say is he someone who might fill a small role?

The problem is he is not what we are looking for. he is a finesse player and he is a tweener like Radmanovic...a power forward who played some C at school but not physical enaugh to play F/C in the NBA. Also his mental toughness has been questioned countless times. He becomes invisible for huge stretches...he gets hesitant and tentative if he is not involved and disconnects mentally.

He is still fairly young and might stick somewhere in the league but the Lakers were outphysicalled in the finals...they need toughness, size and a nasty attitude on this roster...Augustine doesn't fit the bill in this case IMO.

Theo Ratliff makes sense to me, Mutombo or Zo would make sense as well...other than that there aren't any hustling bigmen available IMO. In that case we need to go after a small bigman like Maxiell, Gomes, Dorsey, and that type of guys...all undersized but play with a lot of heart. We need an enforcer, someone who can out-will his opponent.

Tractor has the size but lacks the attitude IMO. He is lazy.

Thanks I would take Ratliff in a heartbeat. Elson would also be pretty good wouldn't he? Ratliff would be my first choice of what is out there.
