OC Register: Robert Traylor will workout on Thu. (p. 2)

DETROIT -- Robert "Tractor" Traylor, a former Michigan and NBA player who is serving time in a halfway house for preparing a false tax return, will ask a federal judge today to amend his probation conditions so he can try out for the Lakers.

Cohn is to hear the motion today. Federal prosecutors are not opposed to Traylor making the trip to the West Coast, Fishman said.

Please change the title. It is very misleading and incorrect.

The Lakers aren't interested in Traylor, Traylor is interested in the Lakers. Please change the title.

Thanks.

It goes both ways.. why would he try out for the Lakers if the Lakers didn't want him?

Please change the thread as it is misleading.

The article nowhere at all states the Lakers are interested. You should change the thread title to "Tractor Traylor wants to try out for Lakers" or something.

It doesn't say ANYWHERE in the article that the Lakers are interested. Why wouldn't you change it to something more appropriate? To be intentionally misleading and get attention?

Be a good boy and just change it.

Whatever, I don't believe in the fact Robert Traylor will waste his time coming to the West coast if the Lakers never contacted his representatives.

But I will change it so you won't get on me.

And who would want attention when Robert Traylor is the main topic? you don't think the Lakers ever contacted his people since hes coming to the West Coast to try out for the Lakers?

He's the only one who can wear Shaq's practice shorts.

He's hovering between 280-290.

Summer league stats: 5 & 5 in 14 MPG.

My real question here is this...

If Oliver Miller and Tractor Traylor took part in a sumo wrestling fight who would win?

That is the one bad part about this time of year. Lakers bring 18 to camp and each year they invite some they have no intention of signing, yet a bunch on the board freak out and start raising hell because Mitch signed this guy. It is called camp fodder and that probably is what Traylor is. I am sure the Lakers invited him or he wouldn't be trying out, but no where does it say he will get a guaranteed contract. I am sure they want him to come to camp if he is good enough and compete for a spot but mainly he is camp fodder if his tryout goes well.
Guys lay off the Big O (Oliver Miller), he dominated Snaq one day when he was at Arkansas and the nasty tasting a*& was at LSU. :jam2:

I think Scooby's right and knm is way overbearing here. You can't just go and try out for the Lakers. You get that privilege only if the Lakers want you to try out. Now maybe Traylor's crazy and believes he can just show up...or maybe the Lakers have invited him.

It makes sense LA would ask him to tryout. Mitch has basically said he wants a big man who is cheap mainly for practice and a few mopup minutes. Not that farfetched that could be Traylor. Probaby better than Horry, who is finished, but might not be as team unity person just practicing and not playing. They plan to bring 18 to camp so why not give Traylor a look considering what LA needs. I have no doubt LA invited him out for a tryout, but I am sure it is for non-guaranteed chance to get invite to camp. What's the harm? Not sure what Traylor would offer over say DJ Mbenga, but maybe Mitch plans to bring both to camp.
