According to what I read on the rumors of insidehoops.com it says that Payton's agent contacted the Lakers about Payton returning

Well Payton is a definite upgrade over atkins, brown, and sasha. he seems to be the lesser of the evils at this point. I would like to have lue as his back-up.

If Gary is ready to take a back-up role I'd be all over it.

Otherwise, no way, I'd stick with someone a little more agile.

Knight sure didn't play good D last season, allowing a 53% shooting percent, 19.7 pts per 48, and like 10 assists...I can't imagine us having him and Rose and bringing Rose off of the bench. Rose played lockdown D against PGs and torched them offensively.

Who is this glove you speak of. Oh you mean the mitten. Even though the Mitten is an upgrade over chucky he doesn't fit with the triangle and would be complaing all year about his role and just being a cancer to the team.

Im glad to see the interest in Lue again, being he played quite decent in 2000 and 2001 for the lakers. I relly liked his style of play. I am curious as to what Phil Jackson will take onm this, not favoring small point guards in general. I assume thats one of the reasons for dismissing him in the first place. Also with Daniels out of the picture now, i see GP as the next best option being the lakers only wanna sign someone at the point for only two years. That is why Daniels rejected the offer the lakers gave him in the first place.
