Just went and looked around at realgm and didn't see anything that said that. Please elaborate.

Nonsensical. And it's from BSPN hack/LeBron nutgrabber Broussard.

Don't believe it. He has no insider angle to the Laker front office either.

Since Barnes went down, Ron's minutes and overall production have improved noticeably. He's also coming off a week where effectively contained Durant and Carmelo. That's why we brought him here.

2:10 mark they start talking about the Lakers. They discuss Artest (possibility of trade) at the 3:36 mark.

Basically he says the Lakers have asked around and are willing to trade Artest, but he doesn't think they're going to find any takers. Will most likely end up staying put.

Shoot, if we can land Melo, why not?

Other than that, I doubt we are looking to trade our best defender.

They just said "if they dont win this year they are done"....Funny because everyone said that about Boston after losing to the Magic. Even funnier because they said that about SA 4 years ago.

Im not worried about any of this. Is Artest older and slower yes. Has Kobe lost a step, for sure. Is Fish is the twilight of his career- obviously. But go back and watch our playoff run. Watch Ron lock up Durant (like last week). Watch Fisher single handedly beat Boston in game 3 last year- just like against the Clippers in Nov. Oh and watch Kobe dominant the WCF and games 1-6.

Are we older, yes. Are we too old, hell no.

I will agree that Bynum is the key. At this point he needs to be a force. He needs to (and has the ability) to be a legit anchor for this team much like Pau has been. If Kobe does what he does, and Pau and Bynum can dominate and everyone feed off those 3, then we are unstoppable.

I will say this though, as I have since Melo's name first came up, If we can get Melo and Nene for Bynum, Artest, whatever.. Im all for it.

And who can we get for Artest? I know they are counting on re-signing Matt to play some serious minutes at the 3 (and Walton is not going anywhere, we all know that), but still... if it's not a CLEAR upgrade I would not do it.

I'm reading the thread over at RGM and all I can say is "WOW".

Bynum, Artest and Walton for Iggy, Brand and an asset (Speights, Hawes or Thad)

we wouldnt trade for iggy or brand's contract, let alone both

yossixbean11 wrote:I'd consider it, Artest and Iggy have the same amount of years left, Brand and Bynum have the same assuming Lakers exercise their TO on him, and we swap Walton for a nice asset. Philly's incentive to this is getting a strong true center in Bynum and since there aren't many left, it will cost. I think Iggy would play great next to Kobe and Brand would be very helpful off the bench, as well as whatever else we get. Again, I'd consider it, I don't like making shakeups to teams that have won 2 rings in a row.

I have said it many times. A good GM can find a ways to trade MWP, even L.Walton. Do you guys remember how the Clippers traded Marcus Camby to Portland? He was making $ 9.5 mil. that year. And they got just a second round pic for him.So we can also trade Ron Artest for 2-nd round pic and include that pic in some other trade. But, first of all, we have to waive that scrub Luke Walton, then make a deals.
With just 5 days remaining to the deadline, I don't see Jimmy Buss to make any trade. That means, the Lakers are out of the playoffs, after the 1-st round.

Toxic contracts:
Arenas got traded.
Turkoglu got traded.
Rashard got traded.
Diop got traded.

It's possible.
