I don't think Bonzi would be a good fit here. Unless Lamar is moved, we'll have LO, Vlad, and Luke at the small forward position. We don't really need another guy at that spot. I agree with Heir-right now our focus should be on getting a backup big.

Isn't he a SF???Do I even need to get into our SF rotation already...that would be 5 SF!!!??Man I would like Bonzi just as next as the next man.Sure he gets fat and lazy at times but he's better than Luke or Vlad. When he wants to be he is a factor (remember Bonzi in his Portland days??), and Phil is the perfect coach BUT just like 2004-05 we have too many damn SFs.

Not sure where he'd play. We re-signed Sasha to give him minutes. Not paying him $5M to cut his minutes and give them to Bonzi Wells.

Plus, Bonzi can't shoot. He's more of a scorer. I don't think he'd get much burn in LA. I'd really rather focus our efforts on a tweener 4/5 who can play center or PF (backup).

I'd be focusing on Ratliff, Magloire, DJ Mbenga, Michael Doleac, and Lorenzen Wright.

And frankly, I'd rather have Joe Crawford get any mins leftover at the 2 than Wells.

Bonzi has played on the Kings/Rockets/NO in the past couple of years. Theres a reason he's always used as tradebait. Doesn't fit our system either. We need a big.

No minutes for him to play. Kobe is getting 40MPG at SG Lamar, Ariza, Vlad, and Walton get all the minutes at the 3.

I remember my first post...ummm...nicely done. I think this is a good point and I completely agree but what if we can address that need a different way and fix our SF problem. The problem with LO, Vlad and Luke is that they play play similar ball. They have different games of course but play the same mental ball. They don't play with toughness. I'd like to see Bonzi come in and replace one of them. We were searching for toughness with Ron for that reason. Obviously LO stays but Luke and Vlad can be replaced by a smaller SF with more toughness on D and a little more slashing ability at O. If there is a way to do that then we still can sign that Big while picking Bonzi up. The idea would be that we try to package Luke or Vlad in a deal for a legit 4. A Haslem type player. There are talks that he may not fit now that Beasley is in town.

I would sign Bonzi if I knew I could trade Luke or Radman for a power forward. Bonzi is better than the free agent power forward options so you sign Bonzi and then trade one of Luke or Radman for a backup PF. Bonzi can play SF or 2G and is decent player with crappy attitude. Phil and Kobe would probably get plenty out of him though. I wish they would do it and then trade a SF not named Lamar or Trevor for the best PF they could get.

This article seemed to be just a reporter speculating and nothing concrete. Lakers are pinching pennies so I don't see them signing a 2G-SF type who they reallly don't need. Just doesn't make sense.

Meaning he finds ways to put the ball in the bucket but he isn't a good shooter. Kinda like Lamar. I always ask myself, where on Earth do Lamar's 14-15ppg come from?

i would love him coming off the bench behind ariza or something

but i've always viewed him as ron artest's level of sanity but not even close to ron artest's level of talent
