Adam Morrison Summer League Performence Thread

so please talk about him in this particular thread...

I personally think he HAS TO feel like he is on a mission there. Its gonna be a contract year for him and he needs to prove that he belongs in the NBA...with Lakers being stacked...he will have a tough time to get any playing time and the only way to get playing time is by completely outplaying Luke...which shouldn't be that hard but knowing about Jax and his infatuation for Luke...he will have to be much much much better than Luke.

I really want to see him succeed...even if its another team. He seems like a very nice kid...he is always quiet and does what he has been asked to do. He does have skillsets that are valuable in the TRI as well...so lets see how he performes.

His career kinda depends on it. Although I think he probably could get another Summer League invite to another team next season if things don't work out.

Slava laughed at the suggestion his skills might be affected by the down time. "Are you kidding?" he said. "Basketball is like ball. It's all a circle."

Raise your stock boy. That's all I care about.

I've never been a fan and I never will be. I can only speak how I feel. I knew from day one he'd be a complete and utter bust.

If he was to really play well at least that might raise his trade value. I agree with KB24 I would like to see him give Luke a run for his money, but hell Phil started Luke until he went to Phil and said start Trevor. So I won't hold my breath here for Adam to get a chance to push Luke. If he could improve maybe he could get some PT as the shooter like Sasha's role was supposed to be before he turned into Brickacic. Looking forward to seeing him play this summer either way. Got a friend who is in TV in Charlotte and he said Adam helped him with a huge charity event and fundraiser in Charlotte. Said he was very nice person.

This guy does have some talent. You dont score 28 points a game against top notch division 1 competition if your a scrub. I knew he wouldn't be a star in the NBA, but I thought he could be an instant offense guy off the bench. It seems all mental with him, for some reason his shot just stopped falling. The injury played a role in it too obviously.

For a glimpse of what he did during his rookie year:

Players like Adam you can only hope for the best. He's lost all confidence in his game.

He really needs to dominate in the summer league. If he doesn't put up at least 20 ppg against scrubs, his career is over.

i hope Morrison plays out of his mind during the Summer league, raises his value, and then the Lakers ship him out.

He has to get confidence in his shot again. Based on the guys around him this summer, there's no reason he shouldn't be getting 20 points a game in Vegas.

Come on Ammo, let's see what you got.

How the hell did he get 2 blocked shots? That's more impressive than the points he scored. His knee must be feeling fine if he's getting blocks.

apparently, it was on DeRozan. or with the quality of the pciture, possible big foot

If he takes this as his last chance to make it he just might. If not, it's another story of a great guy who couldn't quite make the transition..

Okay, I watched the July 10th game. Got it from a free source. I'm not paying 15 bucks for this crap.

Ammo played well, but I didn't see anything that gives me complete confidence that it will translate to the NBA. Many of his shots were contested or were scored off the dribble. Is Ammo going to be able to score on contested jumpers or off the dribble against NBA bench players? Maybe, but speed and athleticism aren't exactly Adam's strengths despite his height advantage. I need to see him actually score a lot of points from curls off of screens or pick and pops. These kinds of plays will be the most effective at giving him space against real NBA defenses.

However, his stroke looks good and he looks confident despite having hands in his face. He shot over 50%FG too so that's good. Had a couple blocks, but it's mostly because he's 6'8 and the midgets tried to shoot over him. He hardly jumped on the Derozen block at the end of the game.

Why is everyone focused on Ammo getting Luke's minutes? If anyone's role can be replicated off the bench it's Vujacic's, ammo can def do a better job of gunning off the bench and playing erratic defense.
