Nice work BDG, Im not sure what you currently do but you should consider some kind of career in sports journalism. These reports have been very well written, they talk enough specifically about the triangle to entertain diehards, but also simplify things for people who just wanna check on certain players. You also integrated interview quotes in nicely and kept the whole thing looking very professional - props :jam2:

Bynum, Farmar and Pinnock are the only guys I really care to read about, so Im glad all 3 were in the recap. Farmar sounds like hes using that same court presence that controlled UCLA's demeanor at SPL, a good sign! Id like to see Bynum start using his size to wear down his defender ala Shaq and go back to the basket, but hes still learning things. Pinnock's offensive game doesnt concern me so much as his D, I see a spot on the roster for a young guy who can play hard and focus on shutting down wing players, and it seems Pinnock can do that. How was his defense despite a poor offensive night (something some of our current Lakers have problems with, when they miss shots they then go and sulk on D).

Anyway, thanks for the recap and sounds like an exciting game.

I had hoped the Maurice Evans signing was an indication we were now worrying about defense, but then we sign Vlad and Shammond. Typical.

Throw Bynum some Mihm minutes, then talk about 'stats not translating'.

I won't let you hijack another thread so I'll be very brief. Von Wafer did zero at the pro level and zero in the NBDL. The players who did well in either SPL or NBDL but nothing, even if given time, at the pro levle are legion.

Thanks for the report BDG.

It's very good to hear that Bynum had such a good outing. I was a little concerned when I saw the box score and it said he only had 1 block, but if he was still a presence in the middle and bothering shots, that's fine with me.

Farmar has played very well this SPL it seems. I just wish he'd see more competition, same could be said about Bynum's opponents. When your best opposition is Lowry (who didn't play the first meeting) or a Greek center who won't be in the NBA, it speaks volumes at just how much the SPL needs to get real teams back in the competition. The Bynum-Farmar duo is nice to hear about, since Bynum will likely be the center in the game when Farmar is logging his minutes. So if they are learning how to play together now, it makes things a lot easier come training camp and pre-season.

What's funny is Pinnock had a decent game, but the fact that it was head and shoulders better than the performance by Green and Wafer, two players who have played on the Lakers and have at least a little triangle experience. Either someone hits them with some smelling salt or they lose their roster spots. But with Pinnock surprising us all and actually being a decent prospect, that's fine with me if Green and/or Wafer lose their spot to him.

Green guading Warrick?! Why? Isn't that a complete mismatch. That has be scratching my head more than the Bulls playing Thabo at center yesterday.

I really hope we at least get Slaughter a spot on the D-League team. He seems to be a solid, blue collar worker. He just needs to spend the next year working on his shooting touch and an NBA position, since he is a tweener.

JSM Thabo was not the C. Thyrus Thomas was but the box score was wrong. They had Tyrus at SG and Thabo at C but it was the other way.

Good to know, I thought Mitch or Billy Knight was coaching them after reading that in the box score.

That's a bit concerning. From the start, Bynum strikes me as an injury prone guy, so he has to be very careful about pushing it, at least until he has already reached his top conditioning level.

I just uploaded some video of the Shootaround before the game that I got on to YouTube. I know it's shaky but hey it's something. The guy with the yellow headband that makes a few nice dunks is J.R. Pinnock. Wafer is in a purple top without a headband but didn't dunk too much. Here's the url:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DepcbFJjt9Y
