Cousins vs Caracter.



This will be the biggest test for Caracter. Cousins is a monster, who is going to play the C/PF spot in the NBA.
This will be the biggest test so far as to how Caracter will fair against NBA level talent and Physicality.

Lets do this!

Werrrd. I wanna see how well Ebanks does against Casspi on the perimeter as well. On a side note, I had no idea how many folks show up for Laker summer league games. I'm checking out the Cleveland game right now and the place is dead. Shades of things to come this season at the Q. lol

Cousins is supposed to be a C. Caracter is a PF. It'll be interesting if they matchup, but IMO it'll be Sims on him instead of Caracter.

Hassan Whiteside started the first game at center for the Kings, and had Cousins at PF.

Now we know what it is like to have two 7 footers in the starting lineup. It creates matchup problems like crazy.

Caracter will be matched up with Cousins from the opening tip.
And yes, Ebanks against Casspi and Donte Green should be a good matchup as well.

Is there ESPN3??

Ebanks is really struggling

Cousins is effective when using guard skills. However, his big man skills need development.

I don't think I'd go that far to say he's not playing well. His defense looks better from lastnight(?) and he's just missing a few bunnies. I think he's playing much better compared to the last.

Green is not making this team.

I just don't understand why they keep hyping Cousins througout that broadcast. Sure, he scored 19 points, but he shot 8-20 to do it while being defended by a guy who's 2 inches shorter than he is and less athletic. Sure he made some nice passes to teamates. He also turned the ball over more times than he made an assist. The only thing he did well was rebound, but even so, it wasn't like his team had a rebound advantage over the opposing team. Caracter scored 14 points, yet did it on a more efficient 6-9 shooting. He had 5 rebounds because he had to defend Cousins, which allowed Sims to grab the rebounds.

Didn't get to watch this game. Anyone have a good recap? Or highlights or something?

^The game was broadcast at the same time as the Memphis-Milwaukee game on NBATV. So you could only watch it live on broadband. NBATV will air a replay at 10:00PM PST.

^^ Just finished watching the first half and it confirms what you're saying. Caracter basically has played Cousins to a standstill so far. Caracter is really impressive. He's aggressive, nice jumper, good around the rim, and a better defender than talked about so far. When he was on Cousins, Cousins struggled to make shots. He missed most of them when Caracter was on him (also a blocked shot). When Caracter was switched off of him is when Cousins made did most of his damage.

Going to watch the second half.

Ebanks needs to focus all of his energy on defense. His offensive game comes and goes, and living true to his scouting report.

Is it safe to say that Caracter is mostly a lock for an invite to training camp? I think so. For the last couple SPL games, I want to see Caracter try to play some defense without fouling 8 times a game.

Ebanks is more on the fence for me. He needs to concentrate on defense and shut down his man, his offense is not going to get him into the NBA. Slasher/Defender.
