You got by the talented OCT led by Durant
You handled the upset minded and well coached Utah Jazz
Then you made it to the finals taking the Boston Celtics Big 3 to seven games
And you some how managed to do all of this with your star center Bynum hurt very bad
Yes you even won the seventh game in this condition with several detrimental injuries

To The LA Lakers - You are our 2010 World Champions!

There is no way that Ebanks and Caracter are 2 of the 3 best players in the NBA summer league...

Is there?

I am looking forward to seeing Demarcus Cousins play, and how he compares to Caracter.
And Favors was terrible just about every game (except when he got to abuse Gaffney and Harangody)

^ Based solely on their first two performances and NOT on their draft position, yes i can see this.

Caracter is already demanding double-teams and Ebank's main weakness -- hhis outside shot -- has shown much improvement over his showing in college.

Caracter outplayed Monroe (7th pick) last night, and is showing excellent touch and skill with the ball in his hands. He's already the 2nd best passing big on the team, and he hasn't even been signed yet. He was making some passes last night (like the skip from the post), that most bigs in the league today just can't make.

I agree.

I was very surprised by the passing skill of Caracter.

I know it is just Summer-league, but, both of these guys look they could contribute next season. And given the Lakers money situation, they might get some playing time. Ebanks might slide in and backup Artest. Walton is there, but Ebanks will be more healthy then Walton, and it should only be a matter of time until Ebanks passes him up on the depth chart. (think how Ariza eventually took over for Walton in the starting lineup)

Caracter I think has a bigger chance to make a quick impact. If he signs, I believe he would come in as the lakers 4th big man. After Bynum-Gasol-Odom. At 6-9, he will be shorter then most centers, but playing against backups, that should not be a problem.

I just want the season to start.

Personally, i think Ty Lawson is the best player in the summer league, then again, i have no idea why he is even there.

^ Agreed. Perhaps the Nuggets will learn a lesson from losing Butch last night. I know Lawson probably wants the exp, but finding it in summer camp is like playing pick-up games at the park for an NBA talent (ok, sort of). It's not going to help expand his skill level. he should be in the weight room.

From what I've seen I can't believe these guys were drafted as low as they were. This was one of the weakest drafts I've ever seen and I guess that means that the talent from like the picks in the teens and the picks in the 40's isn't that much different, at least that's what it looks like in all the Summer League games I've watched.

^Not really. Caracter is quite frankly the best big man in the draft. And not just by a little. I'm talking by a lot. He's drawing double-teams and sometimes triple-teams in the post and he's spinning away from them and scoring anyway. Nobody among the big men in the summer league is doing anything close to what he's doing.

And Ebanks has been reported as somebody who's offensive skills need work. So far he's been hitting open jumpshots without blinking an eye. He told an interviewer that his college didn't need scoring from him, so he didn't focus on it that much. Guess what college he went to? West Virginia. Ol Jerry West had some inside info on this kid through alumni members.

Our players are actually rated 1 and 2. Unbelievable :jam2: . I Still wish we could have brought Javaris Crittenton into Summer League with us. Would have loved him as a cheap 3rd string PG behind Fisher and Blake.
I'm hoping the Lakers can get Shaun Livingston for the minimum salary as our 3rd string point, and add Shaquille O'Neal back to backup Bynum at the 5.

Fisher/Blake/Livingston
Bryant/Vujacic
Artest/Walton/Ebanks
Gasol/Odom/Caracter
Bynum/O'Neal

1st resign Fisher to 2 years 8 million
2nd Sign Shaun Livingston to the league minimum
3rd : Sign Shaq to the league minimum

That's it. Those final 3 moves, and we are all set to go.

we all know they're good, but two 2nd round picks ranked 1 and 2 is ridiculous... :man3:

yep 1 & 2 now you are right. I like their game. Ebanks stays right in the flow and never forces things. He's a smart player!
