Should Bynum Play In Vegas?

Postby ktrain203 on Tue Jul 15, 2008 10:11 am

I know he's been cleared to practice and play, but that really means nothing in terms of what his conditioning or game shape is like. Would he benefit from playing 5-10 min in the Vegas summer league, so as to get some game action heading into training camp? For a guy who hasn't played since January, obviously risks exist and we wouldn't want to risk anything, but I'm just wondering if this isn't a good opportunity to get him out there against less than great talent and let him get his feel for the game back.

Nah; not worth the risk. It's essentially jungle ball out there.

^ Like trodgers said, no way. He's FAR too important to our now and our future. Not worth the risk AT ALL.

hy should he play against mediocre competition? and why should he play when he is not completely healthy yet?

BTW SPL is only for first, second or third year players...Bynum will be in his 4th season, he is not allowed to play as far as I understand this.

^ Is that a new rule? Orlando and Artest are known to play in the SPL.

^ I know that was a rule in one summer league. It might have been the summer pro league, but it's not with the Vegas league. Tractor Traylor is playing for the Cavs and he's a well aged tractor.
