Doron Perkins-Lakers Summer League Report

Doron Perkins, the former Santa Clara University standout who excelled in his first season of professional basketball in Japan, is trying to make a name for himself with the Los Angeles Lakers summer league team.

The 6-foot-3 Perkins, 23, has played in seven of eight games. In his lone start Tuesday against the Washington Wizards, the former Bartlett High player scored 13 points in 13 minutes.

For the summer, Perkins is averaging 9.5 points in 15.8 minutes per game, highlighted by a 19-point effort July 14 in his first meeting with the Wizards.

10 points in 16 minutes is crazy, i didn´t notice him that much.

He plays solid D and had some pretty games. But we have no roster spot to give him a chance.
