That was great even though the scoring for the Chinese girl was absolutely criminal. Great job by the two American's. :jam2: :jam2:

:jam2: :jam2: Swimmers racking it up too :jam2: :jam2:

US Womens Softball finally beat Canada as well :jam2: :jam2:
For what it's worth, the Lakers also clinched the Pacific Division, an achievement Bryant dismissed by saying "We don't hang divisions." No, only the big NBA championship banners are considered wall-worthy for the Lakers.

Suhweet! Criminal? As in they gave her too many points in an event? Haha, one of the events the commentators were saying she didn't deserve that score.

Anybody else think Liukin's dad looks like Christian Slater? lol

Yeah there was some serious home cooking for the Chinese girl. I honestly think if they had marked her down for the same things they marked the Americans down she wouldn't have gotten a medal at all. It turned out right in the end.

I've seen that replay several times and every time it looks like the other dude won.

How did Phelps do that?

Is it me or did it look like the other guy touched the wall first? I mean, from the underwater cam in the replay, I thought it looked like Cavic touched the wall just before Phelps did.

It was probably just too close to call with the naked eye, but damn! Races don't get any closer than that.

Mad props to Phelps, he said that guy was running his mouth before the race. What's up with these fools who can't keep it shut and feel the need to taunt Phelps? That's just asking for a defeat right there. :man10:

O.k. They just explained that they use an electronic touchpad to log times in the pool.

But WOW....it sure looked like Cavic touched first.

I hope this doesn't become some kind of controversy because the video can be very deceiving. You'd probably need an extreme close-up, side by side, in slow-mo to really see it correctly.

I'm glad Phelps pulled it off though. We're witnessing history in the making with this guy every single race he's in.

As soon as I say it, they just announced that Cavic's coaches are filing a complaint over that finish.

Here we go......

From the top down view, yes it looked like Cavic touched first. But from both of the underwater views, you can see Phelps edged him out.

ESPN showed on their ticker about an hour ago that IOC already threw that complaint out.

The Serbian federation filed a written protest to FINA, swimming’s world governing body, contesting the result, but Serbian officials were shown video of the finish and agreed not to pursue it further.

Replays showed clearly that Phelps had won, according to USA Swimming’s Jamie Fabos Olsen.

“If it was up to me, I would just drop the protest,” said Cavic, who swam collegiately at the University of California-Berkeley. “I’m stoked with what happened. I don’t want to fight this.”

I'm sorry, but thats ridiculous to me. I mean c’mon, thats a competition? Let’s have a race where we walk on our knees next.

I'd be so tempted to break out into a sprint. Especially at the end.

This looks like some kind of joke. :man10:
