The US lost by 2.5pts. She had a couple big deductions (along with some minor ones by the other girls) that could have possibly made up the difference.

China also had 2. something more points in difficulty, meaning US had to score perfectly because China began with a stronger degree of difficulty, but more reward.

I am pissed that the US got robbed like that. Nigeria had two great goals of quality but the ref pretty much killed the US in the 3rd fricken minute. Hats off to the Americans who fought for nearly 100 minutes a man down. :jam2: :jam2: :jam2: :jam2: Nothing to be ashamed of with losing like that.

WATER POLO:

USA-Serbia starts now. Live on nbcolympics.com

I don't think an average person could play more then 3 minutes of Water polo, seriously.

Yeah I'm amazed at how long somebody can tread water while trying to move around and score on a defender.

Yes. Just look at the goalkeepers. They have to keep the "footwork" going constantly. And then thrust themselves 3-4 ft out of the water to try to protect the goal. And the players, as you said... I don't understand how they build this kind of stamina/endurance, it's unreal.

^^ The conditioning they go through is probably so grueling. They never get a break unless they're taken out of the game.. USA's been doing pretty good in men's, I haven't been following the women, how are they?

water polo players are probably in the best shape of anyone at the olypics.

I mean your playing a game as rough as rugby, with rules similar to basketball, and while you are doing those things, you have to thread water the whole game.

9-9 against Italy, which is pretty good IMO.

USA water polo team is really getting better. Because, say, 15 years ago, Serbia would beat them without too much trouble, yet today... Serbia leads 2-1 in the 3rd quarter. That's nothing.

Seriously, these guys kick each other, and the defenders can - and will - pull you under water as well when necessary.

Swim, push the ball, defend, shoot... wow. How much do these guys have to eat every day? :man3:

Volleyball and beach volleyball are some of the easiest sports to shoot . It's really hard not to get a good photo (in some senses). :man1:

I really dreaded my time when I shot women's volleyball. Women's volleyball has the best dress code.

The winner of "Worst Olympics of 08" has to go to Katie Hoff. I don't think she can have much else go wrong for her after failing to qualify for the finals of the 800
