I fully expect the US to win easily because Spain won't show their hand in an exhibition game. Too bad.

yep ... as they did in the groups stage in the 08 Olympics .

The margin may be smaller though as Spain plays in front of its crowd this time

What's the current injury situation with Spain, bystander? Don't they have a number of players dinged up a bit? Thought I read Marc has some issues heading into the Games?

bystander wrote:Navarro and Rudy are ready to play right now, but they are getting ready to be as close as they can to 100%, mostly Navarro. Rudy came back from a back surgery and he usually is doing exercise near the bench when he's not playing. Navarro is coming back of playing half season with fascitis plantar and he was resting it. In the spanish playoff he was playing 15 mins per game. Now it seems he can play but with pain. Any given game he can be out of the olympics if he has a bad fall or something.

Marc Gasol was injured in the ankle and the neck and he is nursing them. There have been doubts if he was going to be in the olympics, but they gave him yesterday the ok. He will be playing with pain but it looks like he should be "ok".

Sergio Rodriguez was injured a couple of games ago against Australia defending a pick and roll and he got a bump in his leg. He didn't play the last couple of games but he should be playing also.

Big game for Team USA today against Spain. They have a huge advantage over us inside with the Gasol brothers and Serge Ibaka. We obviously have the perimeter advantage. We've looked rather sloppy in some of the exhibition games. Today will be a challenge for sure. Go Team USA!

couldn't find a single link to a box score anywhere....but looks like USA dominated. Marc Gasol didn't play though....that's a huge part of Spain's team.

Kobe and Russ played great D apparently...James and Melo led the way offensively. Good win, but its just exhibition.

Just finished watching USA - spain game and one thing I think NBA can benefit from are the referees ... Fiba has much better refs - they actually call moving screens and traveling it's much better

EDIT: I couldn't stop laughing when the comentators were speaking about refs inability to see it is not traveling because of the athleticism ... first US players have bad fundamentals in that department and they do travel but they just tolerate it in the NBA but rules in this department are the same ... sorry it is kinda personal since I am european :D
