Kobe's Attack On Pau

So did anyone else feel that push Kobe gave Pau on that screen in the Spain game was sort of more than just a run in over two players? I mean he pretty much trucked through the guy and threw him to the floor. Also, does anyone have the clip online somewhere? I'd be greatful.

Yeah. Kobe did that on purpose. It's pretty obvious he was sending a message, and that became evident when Pau was still on the ground and Kobe walked right by him, without helping him up.

Nothing more to the push than that though.

I think it was a message and at the same time messing around between friends/teammates. You notice how he didn't go pick him up like he usually does, I took that as a sign he was messing around. I know when I play against my friends I play tough defense and I'm not afraid to be a little more physical because they know me and I can give them a shove and then smile and it's all good.

I like to go around and goose all of my friends before the game. That way they know I'm ready to throw down!

I thought the motion of not helping Pau up was instead a sign of it doesn't matter who hell it is we or I knock down, we as a team (USA) are gonna take it right to you and hard, no matter what.

Did you look at Kobe's face when they zoomed in on him when he trucked Pau? Kobe showed no emotion and was serious, thats not messing around with teammates. That's wanting to win dispite who gets in the way.

I liked it, it was Kobes way of telling to toughen up, hes a large reason we lost to the celtics. SOFTy

It was a fitting title, Kobe blatantly accosted Gasol in a rage fueled manner.

Anyway trodgers I was watching the game when it happened, it didn't look too bad but it was definitely intentional and I think Pau looked surprised as well. I see no one has a video though, that's too bad.

If you were "watching" the game and you came to this conclusion then you may need to stop watching games then. Hell a hard foul on someone must seem like murder then.

I'll break it down for you.

1. Kobe is chasing his man
2. Pau tries to set the pick
3.Kobe runs through the pick
4. Pau lands on his butt
5. Kobe doesn't help him up
6. They embrace after the game because no one in thier right mind would think Kobe attacked Pau in a rage in order to do anything but send a message that the US is not playing around.


Bonus:

They have the games on NBCOLYMPICS.COM if you want to rewatch it because it is obvious that you need to do just that.

It was a message to management that they need to trade Pau because he can't play with him any longer.

I think the Chinese people sactioned that attack for a little payback. That's why they love Kobe.

This thread alone should have solved the dilemma on who is the most scrutinized athlete ever...

If you've ever seen a Lakers practice, you'd know this activity is commonplace. Kobe didn't do anything to Pau that he wouldn't have done in practice. It happens every day.
