Compared to 2004 a team was thoughtfully put together rather than just thrown together (thinking they could put anyone out there and win).

I'm pretty confident in saying that Kobe brings a whole different level of respect to this team and that alone makes him one of the co-men. I'd say he, James and Wade are 'The Man'. Kobe is a great player to have in a game like tonight, his passing, his d, his scoring, his experience.

Is that sarcasm? He's hit 3's, stolen shots, blocked shots, and he just hit a 3 AND got fouled. :man3: He's been HUGE tonight.

15 points, 6 assists, 3 rebounds.

no it wasn't sarcasm...he was great in the 4th...but in the first 3 quarters he didn't really come through.

But in the 4th he was awesome

James was garbage in the 4th

In reply to RJ's thread

I was just expecting it to be honest, I was waiting for it. I KNEW he was gonna break out, he was just playing it safe, playing his role, biding his time for when it was time to hit the big shots and bring it home. You just KNOW he's gonna do it, and then he does it, and you're still amazed.

It was a good team game. All the big players had their moments at key times and each had moments where they sucked a little. It was nice to see multiple players being key components.

^agreed grego...they responded really well to the pressure...

they kept their cool and came through. Altho they had defensive lapses tonight, the overall effort was there.

Exactly. People love to bad mouth Kobe when he's not being superman. But when you need him, he puts the cape on.

A man amongst boys actually. Middle of the fourth quarter pretty much proved it to the whole world.

That is why I'm bummed that 2004 sucked so much. But very happy to see that USA could put it together when they put a team effort into it.

Yay!!

in james' defense, he took a step back because he knew kobe was the one who had to lead the team in the 4th. i thought that was pretty noble. shows that hes a true team player

im not getting into this again...

all ill say is...

when i knew Kobe Bryant would be on this team... and in place to take critical shots and reign in this collection of tallent in at a critical moment....

i knew this team COULD NOT FAIL.

i was not incorrect.

TEAM USA + KOBE = GOLD

write it down, take a picture... i dont really care, all i know is we are the greatest basketball nation on the planet, bout time we had the best player on the planet on our team in the games.

doug collins said that kobe was responsible for 15 straight points in the 4th quarter with his scoring his assits and his defense. KObe let the mamba loose! i cant wait to see how the american media will call him selfish after tonights performance he was so clutch it was unbelievable that was seriously one of the greatest kobe performances i have ever seen and im sure kobe will say that he'll never forget tonight especially on his birthday man that has to be great present a gold medal well it was still his birthday on the west coast. hahaha kobe man words cant describe ur legitness ( see i have to make up words to describe him) :jam2:
