Exactly.

Spain looks absolutely loaded. They're in the same bracket as the U.S. to start things off too.

same, the kid is gonna be special.

but in general, that is a stacked team, and is nearly equal to team USA in pure talent

I don't think they're up to the US level in terms of raw skill- or anyone else for that matter. However, I have issues with Team USA working as an actual team rather than a group of individual superstars, to the level of understanding that other elite teams -and especially Spain- can reach.

Is he qualified for this year's draft? If the rule is he has to wait one year after high school then yes, if he has to be 19 then no. And then again I'm not sure how those rules apply to international players.

If he has a good Olympic tournament (lots of eyeballs on him) and he keeps progressing in the ACB next year he'll be projected near the top of the 2009 draft, so he'll probably enter the draft then. Of course he may stay a few more years in Europe getting himself seasoned.

Can't say I'm surprised...Ricky Rubio had a break out season and is one of the brightest european talents in basketball right now...

I have seen him do amazing things on a regular basis and he is just 17...he WILL be in the NBA. It will be the last tournament Calderon starts for spain...RR will take over soon.
