Pistons starting 5 for Olympic team starting 5

Would the Detroit Pistons starting 5 be a logical choice for the Olympic team? They all have Olympic quality talent, plus they have a ton of chemistry together already. I know it probably wont happen, but do you think that 5 would lead us to the Gold?

Billups/Kidd?
Rip/Kobe
Tayshaun/LeBron
Sheed/Garnett
Ben/J. O'Neal

No, it definitely won't happen. Jerry has already picked nearly half of his team and not a one of them are a Piston. He doesn't want the Pistons 5 and even if he did, Flip and Dumars would never sign off on it.

They'd do just fine in the Olympics, although that would never happen.

Part of the problem about the olympics were the players weren't together long enough to build a team concept.

I like the idea overall but, they have team chemistry but, do you honestly think RIP or Tayshaun should replace Kobe in the starting lineup.

Well, it would never happen, but the sum of all the parts is better than one particular part.

we're fine with the direction this team is going. now that time and effort are being put into choosing the players and getting a commitment from these players, i expect us to be much better than the last team. no offense to any pistons fans, but i wanna see team USA win the gold in style. detroit is just not fun to watch. team USA should be composed of the best basketball players in the USA. that's exactly what they're doing this year. this is gonna be a fun team to watch. and the most important thing, we'll get back that gold.

I remember a couple of years back Jax suggested to go to the olympics with the Lakers. I think The Pistons have a better chance than ANY all-star team we send there but their aggressive defense might be too foul pron.e Otherwise they have a GREAT unity and great cohesiveness in their roster. You can only be amazed

I don't think the unit would be messed up if Kobe started instead of Tayshaun or Hamilton. I mean it would be borderline criminal to have Kobe coming off the bench.
