Bucher was just on ESPNEWS a second ago ... here's a recap:

- Reason USA hasn't won gold since 2000 was because "we took our supremacy for granted." Image of USA Basketball is pretty low right now.

- This new team they have a blend of young players and veteran leaders (Kobe, Kidd, Billups).

- This pre-Olympic qualifying tournament seems to have weak competition for the US.

- The chemistry between Kobe, LeBron & Kidd has everyone talking. This team has a bunch of quality shooters and inside rebounding. There's no question that they've addressed those two issues that were a concern in previous years.

- If you ask everyone on the team, they'll tell you that Kobe is the leader of this squad. Jason Kidd is also a leader on this squad. LeBron is also a presence.

- USA strategy is to overwhelm teams with their athleticism and pressure defense. This new team has added high IQ players (i.e. Kobe, Kidd) that can "make adjustments on the fly" during games.
