shud Melo be kicked off the Team USA ?

with the DUI incident and his piss poor play and attitude in this 1st round, shud he be off the team ? who shud be in instead?how bout Odom? or G Wallace? or Josh Smith?
I know how good he is in FIBA ball but how do u think it will work based on whats going on between Kobe and the Nuggets ?

Wow, good question. It's probably George Karl's fault, but his offensive game right now looks like one iso play after another... definitely not team ball.... Not gonna fly with Team USA. His attitude isn't impressing me too much either.

hes still a great player, but I think him making it would be an insult to guys who work their butts off to play good basketball , it just would not be fair , another good candidate would be Josh Smith I think , he works hard and plays D

good point, if I recall correctly that was his main problem as a rookie/2nd year, guess hes back to square one.

Lamar would be a nice fit to Team USA. Long arms, a passer, good defense.

Josh Smith or Melo are better players for FIBA ball than LAmar. All FIBA teams will zone up so Odom will have to take jumpers. You want to see that?

better question is: Should Wade play on Team USA? He is bad shooter, he won't get calls like he does in NBA, plus the zone is ultimate counter to his game

this player isn't needed but he will get nod becuase of his superstar status ...

on the other hand Melo have every tools an international player needs ... with Kobe the best shooter on team USA squad

Isn't Mike Miller a member? USABA should add Korver or Kapono too. In what they bring to the team skillwise; Lebron, Kobe and Melo are too much alike imo. Need to balance that roster with shooters. Redd can't do it alone..

You also have Oden. I'm not sure whether the Blazers would give him their blessing or not.

Melo is one of our best international players. Do I think we need him to win the Gold? No. But I don't think we should kick him off b/c he's sucked in the playoffs. Look at the guys he is playing with. There's a reason we call them the Thuggets. Under better leaders and classy, hard-working players is where he'll be with team USA.

Speaking of team USA though...we DON'T need Wade. I just hope they don't ruin the chemistry these guys had. Wade can't play international ball to save his life.

Agree'd. We don't need D-Whistle for the Olympics. Team USA already established amazing chemistry during the summer. I think they should stick with the team they had last year.

CP3 should be added, though between Kidd (who I still think will start) and Williams, maybe the coaching staff will find it tough to split time between them.

Brand's not playing in the Olympics this year (healing from achilles injury), and I don't know if Pierce and JJ are really necessary as their skillsets are would be redundant on the team with KB/LBJ. Marion's compelling to look at, as well as maybe one of Boozer/Bosh- probably Bosh because of his shooting ability. I agree that D-Wade isn't necessary for team USA either, and despite his desire to play, I think the Heat want him to get a full summer of healing. Same deal with Oden, Blazers need him to heal and at this point he's not gonna bring more to the table at the C position than Dwight/Chandler

Sad is that i am sure D-Whistle will get the spot :'-( well maybe i will write Mike personal mail since i am from Europe so i will teach him about things Wade lack for international ball and that he has NO thing that USA team needs ... and has for being able to play in international competition

yes he should.

he is useless for that team. All he does is score and with James, Kobe, Paul and these guys they don't need that.

Melo plays PF anyway most of the time and we all know he is not a PF.

I don't mind him being there but he is redundant.

The Series aint over yet, what if melo drops 30+ points in the next 4 games and the Nuggets advance?

Not that i want it, but dont talk like we won the series already.
