Are you serious with this, Kidd sucked? :man10: Why because he didn't score? He ran the show and played fantastic defense all night, with him on the team we actualy have a shot to win this thing. And I thought Miller did fine, his shooting will come in handy at times.

yeah the comments Bill made about Kobe were pretty stupid.

he got blocked 1000000x times tho...

he got fouled a grip of times though..

i think the main scorers for the team should be lebron/melo/howard.. they dominate physically it's not even funny..

kobe will do his usual routine.. exceptional defensively and offensively.. both finesse and physically.. however i think he should take it easy on the offensive end.. let the big 3 do the dirty work.. if the big 3 is cold.. then kobe can be kobe..

kidd will facilitate and give the big 3 (melo/bron/dwight) free shots.. not that we would need kobe to take the final shot the way team USA is playing.. but you know he has to be the guy who will take the last shot if need be.

on another note.. i think gilbert arenas should be playing deron william's spot.. he's a playmaker.. he can play all around.. 3s.. mid range.. dribble drive.. miller and redd are mostly for 3 point shooting.. prince will be prince.. id rather have boozer over him though .. i love boozer's low post game and rebounding

The main commentator absolutely was clueless on what the referees were calling . . . and Bill Walton went on a 10 minute rant on Hugo Chavez . . . not even an attempt to stop.

It's really going to be painful to stomach ESPN/ABC for 8 more years or whatever was stipulated in that extension.

If this game was actually worth watching, then maybe I'd be annoyed by Bill's comments. Since it wasn't, Bill's usually weird commentary really helped to pass the time. BIll just seemed about as bored as I was.

I love this USA team.

What's the difference between this year's USA team and last years (2006)?

Defense and Veteran Experience.

Kobe and Kidd played defense like old pros who understand what defense was like back in the days before the new rules. Ditto with Chauncey Billups. Dwight Howard got more minutes than last year and it showed on the defensive end. I'm glad he's starting instead of Stoudamire.

Now I understand that this is just against Venezuala, but I already see a different mentality when it comes to defense than I ever saw in last seasons WBC team. Even Lebron was better this season on rotations. Probably had something to do with Mike Brown finally getting Lebron to embrace rotations while playing for Cleveland last year and going to the Finals, which hopefully is giving Bron newfound respect for defense that he and Melo didn't have last year.

If this team continues to embrace defense, then we should be okay regardless of how our outside shooting is.

K Bryant, G 16 5-8 2-2 2-2 1 4 5 5 3 1 3 3 14

He scored 14 points on 8 shots. That's taking it easy to me. I trust the coach and Kobe on deciding the right balance in his offense and defense.

The Lakers of the 80's had plenty of routs and Chick never ran out of quality commentary. So quit making excused for Luke's lame daddy.

Great D by the USA team overall, and it felt like Kobe had a million steals out there!

That was hilarious. Nevermind all that close buddy bonding with Dwyane, Melo, and Bron ended with us becoming the kings of the BRONZE.
