Andrew Bynum Appreciation Thread

didn't take long for this "Appreciation" thread to turn...... :man10:

As for the "Playing for money" comment..... How does Howard's antics over the last 18 months fit into that?....

I'd venture that every player in the NBA has a period of time where they are playing for the money...... every one of them... otherwise you'd see a lot of guys wanting Chips signing for MLE's to get to the team they want rather than taking max extensions and begging for trades....

Well, hey... a teammate said that. They did not mention Howard, only Bynum. Probably because they know Drew and they've never played with Dwight.

So, I think your comment is probably misdirected. We don't know exactly who said it. Maybe it's true, maybe it isn't. How do we know?

Thanks Drew for all the great memories. I'm sure you'll have a great future with the 76ers, and a great career as well. You'll always be a Laker to me.

Bynum said it was time for a change.. seemed like he didn't really want to be in LA anymore and be the 2nd option.... Ok, bye !

he said what he was supposed to say.

He sure couldn't say "I wanted to be in LA, sucks I got traded". I think Bynum loves the attention he got here from the media...he loves being a star. He loves the glamor and the sunny lifestyle in LA.

He just wants to play basketball and get paid and I don't even mean it in a negative way. He will get that anywhere so he will be happy anywhere in the NBA. He is a good kid.

Dude's already on crack. He thought he was the primary option against the Nuggets and he got triple teamed? He got dominated by Javale McGee :bang:

Dominated? :man10:

McGee didn't even average a double double.

Well, if you have a capable team around him that triple team WOULD HAVE burned the nuggets. But this is an appreciation thread, haters still hating.

Bynum definitely wasn't the primary option, he averaged 17 pgg and Kobe averaged 29. And McGee did dominate him in some games, at least on the defensive end for sure. Check game 5 if you don't believe me.

Yannis Koutroupis: J-Rich: "This is definitely Andrew's team."

Tom Moore: #Sixers Richardson: "Playing with Dwight last year prepared me to play with Andrew. We'll go as far as he's going to take us."

Last Bynum/Sixers dispatch. When asked about a comment from Kareem Abdul-Jabbar indicating Bynum lacked focus in his time with the Lakers, Bynum says, "I don't know. I was definitely focused. I worked with Kareem for, I believe, my first two or three years. Later on, it became more of sort of a mentor (role). He would just give me little tips here or there. I wasn't able to master the sky hook, but outside of that he showed me a lot of great things. Footwork, rebounding, how to cut the lane off. Just a bunch a things. I learned a lot from him and I enjoyed my time with him."

Arash Markazi: Andrew Bynum: "I was compared with Kareem and Shaq in Laker land...but I'm my own player...There's pressure but pressure makes diamonds."

Andrew Bynum, a New Jersey native, is clearly happy with this move to Philly. On his reaction when he heard of the trade from the Lakers: "I just thought I was coming home, man. I was super excited. I thought it was time for a change, to be honest. I'm here now, and I'm loving the city. I've been here for two days, and everybody's been great to me. I had an opportunity to go to some nice restaurants and things like that, so I'm really enjoying it."

Arash Markazi: Andrew Bynum on being traded: "I felt like I was coming home. I'm super excited. I thought it was time for a change."

Arash Markazi: The crowd goes crazy when Bynum is asked about signing an extension and he said, "I'm really leaning towards making this my home."

I'm not a hater. Bynum is the second best center in the NBA. But he will never be a primary option on a championship contender and definitely wasn't the primary option against the Nuggets last season.

Just because I don't say he's the second coming of Jesus doesn't mean I'm hating... If you want to get into an objective debate about Bynum let's go.

I was there... McGee outworked Bynum in that game. When the game was in the balance after Bryant's explosion McGee made the plays to keep Denver in front. All that after the "close out games are easy" comment.
No siggie...
