Andrew Bynum Appreciation Thread

Postby Kobe Bryant 8 on Thu Aug 09, 2012 8:42 pm

If the Dwight trade goes through, Drew, I want to thank you.

Watching you grow and mature was great. I had faith from the time you were drafted. You are a monster, a beast, a borderline superstar.

I'll miss you. Part of me thought you were in the rafters if you stuck with us long enough.

Best of luck.

Love Drew. Wish him best of luck in Philly. I know he'll dominate there as he'll finally have his own team. Will definitely be rooting for him. :jam2:

Bynum was great for our team. A huge part (literally) of the Laker organization through two championships. Thank you for your contributions here.

Hopefully when you get to Philadelphia you can build a legacy of your own.

I really came to like Bynum as well, he showed the potential for long term greatness here, I wish him well going forward and mostly good health when it comes to those knees.

Was one of my favorite Lakers over the past few years. Friends were laughing at me when I got his jersey in 08, and he proved 'em wrong. Can only wish him the best of luck in the future. :jam2: :jam2:

I own a Bynum jersey as well. Sucks that it goes to waste, but I'm close to buying a house. I'll frame it and put it up. I can explain to the younger generation during my wise years why it's there.

I won't miss Drew. Simply because he gave me more reasons to not like his attitude than his once-every-3-games of good play. But i'll root for him in Philly.

He was a big part of our team these last few years and it was fun seeing him become the player he is now. Wish him the best of luck in Philly and hopefully, being a first option will help him flourish!

Andrew made us go through the good & bad just like every other player, still has some growing up to do, but what he has grown he has grown in front of our eyes, starting with that spin on Shaq for the dunk, we will miss you big fella, best of luck in Philly, definitely will be watching.

Thanks Drew for all your dominant play over the last couple of years. You were always the best when you came to play and were ready. I definitely still think you can be the best center in the league. Lakers just needed more consistent play and a better all-around defender.

Best of Luck in the Future!

Great player, though very inmature.

Still, I've seen him grow since he was a 16 year old rookie, and I will miss him (a little bit). I wish him the best in Philly, I honestly do.

We all watched Drew grow up on this team....I don't think the process of maturation is quite done yet with him, but this is a great opportunity for him to come into his own in Philly.

I criticized him a fair amount, but as a Laker fan was always invested in him doing well. In the end, I think Drew's career turns around when he focuses less on the stats, and focuses more on what it takes to help his team win.

I wish him well and hope he succeeds.

I love this guy, and will definitely miss him. What a G. It's a shame that he needed to be traded to get an appreciation thread. I still am in the minority that thinks we should have kept him.
Every time I begin to ask, "Is he really as great as I think he is?" ...He proves that he is.
Every time I begin to wonder...He proves it...That is why I won't lose hope in him.
You know who I am talking about.

I actually think him leading his own team, being the player with the most playoff experience on that team will help him in the long run.

Philly will be very solid this year, though if they run into the Heat they are in trouble.. Who guards LeBron? Dorrell Wright? Young checks Wade? Ouch
