Breaking News: Lakers/Minnesota Blockbuster discussion

Postby Deadroad on Wed Feb 15, 2012 7:27 pm

n other news involving NBA big men, a source said Wednesday that Minnesota continues to pursue a possible trade for Lakers forward Pau Gasol, dangling rookie Derrick Williams, who is from the Los Angeles area, and draft choices. The only players considered untouchable by the Timberwolves, who are seeking to add a veteran by the trade deadline, are Kevin Love and Ricky Rubio. The Timberwolves believe it could be enticing for Gasol to play on the same team as fellow Spaniard Rubio.

If you can get Derrick Williams I would do it.

Gasol is playing his best ball since 2010 and the best we can get is Derrick Williams, if it was Rubio/Derrick williams sure...

Micheal Beasley + Derrick Williams + Luke Ridnour + Draft Picks?

is that what it would look like?

It might be something like that. We might even be able to package something to get Dwight, Nash, or even D-Will in a 3-way.

A trade with Minnesota and no Ricky Rubio nor Kevin Love? Why? Would this be a straight salary dump?

This doesn't make sense.

Williams and Barrera? Throw in Darko? I could see moving Ron to PF, his muscle and slowness might help there. Minn has no high salaries to make things work.

Um... I do not think that is a good trade. At all. There's nothing that could possibly be worth it from that team besides Love or Rubio.

That would be a terrible trade for the Lakers. Not happening.

Williams and Beasley are pretty decent players, especially Williams. So this would not be a salary dump. Plus its clear Gasol's best days are behind him. If you can get a couple of good young players for him, I'd go for it.

Gasol is an All Star caliber player. You don't trade him unless you get an All Star in return period.

How is this breaking news or a blockbuster if it happened? Seems like nonsense to me, especially considering the source and the person who posted it.

Worst deal ever. No way Mitch goes from CP3 to settling for Derrick Williams.

Based on what? I'm sorry, but yet another thread from this banned member constantly making stuff up is a lock, if it becomes legit it will re-open.
