Nash's skillset would be wasted to a degree in the triangle..
I'd rather have a great x's and o's coach at this point to be honest. Phil's greatest atribute was his motivational skills and the way he got teams to buy into a team concept and play with effort. That's invaluable, BUT, most of our guys are experienced and mature, and those who aren't don't need to look too far to find the right direction, Kobe, Nash & Pau are all great leaders. I think every key guy is HUNGRY right now. I don't think we'll see passiveness.
That's why I'd rather get a great x's and o's coach, if we were to fire Brown. With this team the real priority is simple, tangible basketball. Schemes, rotations, sets, etc.
I don't think chemistry/hunger/willingness/effort will be our main concern at all. I actually feel very confident about that.
I love Phil, but I think he should move on as he seemingly has. He could be a very valuable contributor in other ways, but I don't think coming back as head coach (at least for us) is such a great idea.
Now, if you're asking me "Brown vs Phil for the season?" I'd say Phil without a doubt. I'm just talking who I'd get if we were to replace Brown.
"The first time I ever saw my uniform hanging in the locker I put it on right away, and it just felt like I was putting on golden armour. From that day forward, I just called it 'the golden armour', it just felt like there was something mystical and magical about it" - Kobe Bryant.
