This is like expecting a blind man to see. Dwight does not have the offensive skills to carry a team. He works best when he's surrounded by shooters, which we dont have. Our only hope is to get Pau back in time and just dump it into the two bigs and let them find a way to win. Knowing our couch, he would not utilize that advantage.

Ya this is Dwight's opportunity to show what he is made of.

He wanted more responsibility...here we go.

We beat the Spurs last year on their homecourt with Kobe out because Drew came out and dominated.

I expect D12 to do the same for however many games Kobe misses.

i'm definitely expecting nash to do a bit of heavy lifting in kobe's absence as well. moments like these are why mitch brought him here.

well there is a likelihood that dwight will be thrust into the role longer than anyone else during the kobe era

having said that i have faith that kobe will return within a week. but dwight has been here before, i expect him to perform. he did this for 8 years in orlando

I wonder if Howard will come out and say something like " don't worry Kobe Ill take care of business while your gone" or something to that effect. He loves talking to the press, why not saying something positive for once and bring some confidence to your teammates

We just got to be there," said Dwight Howard who had just one block and five fouls because he was not "there," on time on defense for much of the night. "Erase the mistakes. There were a lot of times where I let guys get behind me. I just got to do a better job."

Struggled quite a bit with converting easy shots down low but made it up with a huge And 1 at the end and held Hibbert to 3/12 shooting. Props. Keep this up

Did not shoot well, but was a beastly presence on defense and still ended up scoring a lot of points. Rebounded like a boss too. He was major factor today. Just don't break the glass with those right hooks man.

20/12/4/4

more than anything, we blow without him on defense. He really does altar a lot of shots next to his blocks. We need Pau back.

Jamison and Metta is a terrible interior defense and terrible rebounding.

No, he didn't shoot well, but he made very big buckets and free throws, had a ton of boards, was a factor on D and just in general, great game.

Dwight busted his butt and played well. Stop with the cheap, stupid, early fouls though already. :bang:

Statistic is not showing all, this dude absolutely abused whole inside roster of Indiana, killing out there, and knock down those free throws and that HUGE AND 1 PLAY :jam2: :jam2:

He clearly carried our offense to get us going in the second quarter, and he hit the bucket to close it out. Big game, Dwight. He was able to bully some dudes down low.

The past two weeks I've started to reconsider my stance on him. I think there's a direct relationship between how much Kobe I see in him and how convinced I am that he can be our next cornerstone.

Shooting wise, it wasn't his best night but his impact was monumental out there. He scared the Pacers away from the basket and had 4 blocks in a span of 8 minutes. He got a couple of nice dunks that continue to show off his improving condition. He also did a good job of passing the ball to the open man camping out at the 3 point line. He had 4 assists -- the most assists he's had since 12/16.

He also did a nice job of helping get their bigs in foul trouble in the first half.

KEVIN DING ‏@KevinDing
Dwight, leaving the locker room, saying to local Indiana cameramen: "See y'all in the Finals."

He's changing my mind as well, it's all about the effort and showning desire to win for me. Even with his limited offense and poor FT shooting, it's true you aren't going to find a better Center in the league when he's healthy. I still don't love the idea of giving him 20 mil per under the new cap, because I still feel he's a #2 guy that needs a star guard next to him to win, but I guess that's just how it goes. I've gone from being fine if he walks, to hoping he ends up being happy here and stays to win.

Dwight is starting to look like the Orlando Dwight... By time the playoffs hit he will be in full beast MODE
For what it's worth, the Lakers also clinched the Pacific Division, an achievement Bryant dismissed by saying "We don't hang divisions." No, only the big NBA championship banners are considered wall-worthy for the Lakers.
