Daily Drew: UPDATE 8-28..Kupchak to Atlanta to check on him

Postby gill on Tue Feb 19, 2008 11:24 pm

With the way we're rolling right now, he can take all the time he needs... well, as long as he keeps working on his game (I heard he's been watching tapes of the great centers of old like Olajuwon, Kareem, etc.)
A legendary day (81 points) - Jan. 22, 2006 vs. Raptors.
And at the end of 3 quarters, the Mavs - 61, Kobe Bryant - 62 - Dec. 20, 2005
MVP! MVP! MVP! - May 7, 2008... LONG OVERDUE!
BACK WHERE WE BELONG! 2009 CHAMPS! - June 14, 2009

while that would explain them wanting kobe to get the surgery now which it would i believe

we honestly can win now and you never know what can happen next year hell you never know what can happen this year you have to take advantage of oppurtunities and right now we have an oppurtunity to win a title you don't pass those up no matter what.

i am for bringing along bynum slowly but making this a warm-up year would be a colossal mistake because i will reiterate you never know what can happen through the course of 82 games hell look whats happened this year

I'm not saying pack up the year at all. However, I'm saying we will not win this year and the primary thing that will come from this season is playoff experience and gel time with Gasol.

For all the people already giving up on this year just because Bynum may take a little longer than planned :disagree:

Did you forget that we still have KOBE, GASOL, LAMAR, Phil, and some of the best role players in the entire league. Why in hell would we not try to win it this year when we are winning games left and right even without Bynum. And he is coming back in time for the playoffs most likely, so even though he will probably be out of shape, he will be an added bonus if nothing else.

Shame on you guys, you aren't worthy of calling yourselves Laker fans.

With Gasol anchoring our defense, there are several teams better than us including both of the contenders in the East, the playoff Spurs, and the new look Mavericks.

Andrew Bynum said he hoped to begin running in a swimming pool later this week, the latest step in his rehabilitation from a left knee injury that has sidelined him for more than five weeks.

The swelling is out of his knee and he has not had any setbacks in his recovery, although he will not return at the beginning of the timetable established by the Lakers of "at least eight weeks" from the time of the injury.

Yeah, against the Leastern Conference.Even with Gasol,we have yet to prove we can beat the elite.Lets face it,We got fat on some weak teams on that road trip.

We need Bynum back if we truly want to get outta the west.
"After slamming in an alley-oop as the Suns center(Amare Stoudemire) clung helplessly to his arm, Bynum hopped around like he was on a pogo stick, grinning and nodding in a 'Who’s the man-child now?' sort of way" -Chris Broussard of espn.
