If it were a scenario as thrown out there by Stephen A yesterday - Deron and Lopez for Bynum and salary, let's say Blake? Sign me up. That gets us a big serviceable center and a sensational, and bullet proof PG who has enough talent and smarts to run the offense himself and not listen to Brown, and enough clout to not always defer to Kobe. I'd do that trade in a heartbeat.
The problem of course is the way that wording was stated that Deron would prefer to stay in NJ. If so then there is not much leverage for a trade to happen. Why would they give him up, even for Bynum? I think they are trying to retain him in order to have a better shot at D12.
I wouldn't do that deal. We'd be incredibly soft inside. Brook Lopez is basically a younger and even softer version of Lopez. Gasol/Lopez would be the softest 4/5 combo in basketball.

Deron : "Wtf"

Deron can play/defend both point or shooting guard. He played next to Rose, Wade and James (each ball-dominant) during the All-Star game and was spectacular. That’s part of what makes him better than Paul. Paul can’t play off the ball. Deron can play off the ball, and has a impact (as a lethal 3-point threat).

Trade Blake for Jamal Crawford
Resign Hill and a get a backup PG and SF for mini-MLE.
and Crawford is opting out of his final year unless he changed his mind. IF this scenario happens, I'd offer mini MLE to Novak, if Ebank is brought back let him be the backup 2 and yes to resign Hill. Use TPE to get us a backup C as well.....my fantasy off-season

And how is Mitch supposed to accomplish this feat?

Gasol and parts (Blake) for D Will and a NJ big. Bynum for Howard straight up.
