Doubt that. Why wouldn't he want to play L.A.? Big market, great franchise, chance to play with an all time great, and an opportunity to win his 1st title. He certaintly has a better chance to win a championship with the Lakers than he does with the Mavs or Nets.

Deron already stated through his agent that he is ONLY considering the Brooklyn or Dallas.

It's a done deal. Bynum is staying in LA, and the Nets don't want Gasol. The Nets are dumb. Its like they didn't see what Lebron did to Cleveland. Deron is going to leave them with nothing and return to his hometown in Dallas. Then, the Mavs are gonna get Dwight.

A source close to Nets point guard Deron Williams said Houston is not likely to be added to his free-agent wish list even if the Rockets get Howard. Williams is focused on the Nets or his hometown team in Dallas, though he is known to be open to joining the Lakers if they were able to pull off a sign-and-trade with Brooklyn.

I know they don't want Gasol, but a 3 way deal is possible. Mitch got Chris Paul for Gasol he can get Williams for him.

Aren't you forgetting something...... we were close to getting Paul for Pau AND Odom...

It was almost a salary dump disguised as trying to make the team better.... that's the main reason it was scuttled.... can't have the cash cow getting a good player AND dumping 8+ million to boot....

First, I don't think Deron wants to come here over Dallas.... regardless of what that report says... second why would NJ trade him if his is willing to resign?... Even Dallas believes it's 70-30 that he will re-sign with NJ.... and lastly... what would NJ do with Pau?.... he and Lopez are redundant in almost every respect.... it doesn't help them at all... they get an aging asset that apparently no one wants at a tremendous cost... doesn't seem to make sense from their perspective...

Obviously Brooklyn would only trade him if they knew for sure he was leaving. I really don't think Deron would rather be in Dallas than L.A. it's just they have cap space and we don't. He has a better chance of winning in L.A. that's for sure. If Williams is traded it would have to be a 3 team deal because they don't want Gasol. Bynum would probably be heading to Brooklyn and Gasol to a 3rd team maybe Houston or Orlando.

I'm not sure that Deron is worth trading both Gasol and Bynum. Just Deron, Kobe, and scrubs is not a championship team.

I think people overestimate players desire to play alongside Kobe. It may work in the All-Star game, or even on the Olympics, but I just don't see that being the case for a full season.

Why not? He's an all time great and still an elite player. Of course Deron would love to play with Kobe. He'd be a fool not to.

He say I that He didn't think the Lakers could get Him when asked By LA Times but I think He seemed interested in joining I hopnestly think He would be Great and With Him and a Better Bench We Could Seriously Challenge for thw Title Next Season.

He's gone. Latest confirmation on ESPN, and now that makes multiple confirmations. He has it narrowed down to New Jersey and Dallas. The Nets' owner stated that he isn't trading Deron and they will resign him.

I can understand Washington being used in a three-team trade involving Deron Williams. Why would they care if Deron Williams got traded to the Lakers? Only meet twice a year, and never meet in the playoffs.

Well, he's not getting traded to somewhere he doesn't want to go. He is an unrestricted FA (when he opts out). You won't see him cry and pout because he will resign with Jersey or walk to Dallas. If he gets traded it will because he and his agent worked out a S&t to where he WANTED to go.

Deron's situation is NOTHING like Dwight's nor like Melo's. Denver is a small market team that didn't have another superstar (dwight) begging to come play there. He wanted a HUGE market and wanted to go play with Amare and knew they'd have cap space to go out and get another max player. Deron is already going to be in a HUGE market with a "fresh" franchise that has a billionaire owner who can promise Global reach and Jay-Z as the face of the business side of things. He's also got a good second option in Dallas where he can play for the best owner in sports and with Dirk in his home town.

What I'm trying to say is that he has ZERO reason to put LA on his list of teams... publicly. Behind close doors his agent has let the Lakers know that he'd be more than happy to join them should they be able to pull off a trade. But in the meantime, they are going to look at what is available... Brooklyn or Dallas. Any talk of LA and the media spreads it like a wildfire and it makes it harder to pull off.

I doubt he'll end up in LA only because we won't trade Bynum for him but this isn't like Dwight who can't handle playing in LA's past superstars shawdows.
