Or McBob will start. Lakers have shown they play better with a Bynum + McBob combo rather than a Bynum + Murphy combo. If Pau is gone, we gotta get a stud at PG or nice pieces at PG and SF, no matter how unrealistic it may seem at this point.

this is possible, but not sure if i agree that Bynum plays better with McRoberts than with Murphy?? For a start, Murphy has actually been playing with Bynum lately on the second unit and they have been going ok...McRoberts has even been on the floor in any serious manner in recent memory...?

Yeah, he's been benched, but there was a thread here not long ago with "Moneyball" stats showing which combo of players works best together, and surprisingly we were immensely outscored this season when Bynum + Murphy were on the court together. Seems strange since Troy can shoot the 3 and spread the floor, but I guess numbers don't lie. *shrug*.

dj vitus...

i know where you are coming from and agree that McRoberts is probably a better help defensive player than Murphy (or even better on D all-round), but stats don't always show the full picture either....

Yes, I am, Jim is in charge now, all moves are made with his approval. If he makes a good one he'll get credit, if he does stuff like this, he gets laughed at, only fair. For example, Janis Carr just tweeted

Rasheed Wallace hasn't played since he retired in 2010, and Buss thinks 'Sheed is better than keeping Gasol?.

yes, he approves deals mitch orchestrates. yet you don't even mention mitch. proving my point by the day.

John Ireland on ESPN radio is saying the report of Rasheed seems a bit premature.

They are bringing in Jon Barry to talk about this on the next segment... like he would know insider info or something.

Jim is ownership...he can't lose his "job" for sucking. Mitch is an employee, he can lose his job if he doesn't do what he's told.

Pretty obvious.

That phrase made me laugh but so true. LOL.

We don't need Howard. He doesn't deserve to be on the Lakers.

New York's version of the Clippers made it to the Finals twice in a row in the last decade. One more time than New York's version of the Lakers.

jason kidd was so ridiculously good back then. i still don't get why anyone would ever even put kidd and nash in the same sentence.

kidd was on another level than steve nash, even after the microfracture surgery

Granted..... if you're interested in such things.... which I believe he isn't. He doesn't want the comparisons to Shaq, Kareem or even Divac IMO..... He's about getting to a big market... and not just any big market... the one that Adidas wants him in so he can get his "lifetime" endorsement deal like D-Rose just got. Adidas doesn't want the competition of LA with Kobe, Biff and CP3.... That's why he will opt out more than anything else.

He's not really interested in winning at this point..... maybe after he catches up to LeBron in total compensation he will be but right now it's about green.....

You just put Kidd and Nash in the same sentence. Twice. :man11:

In all seriousness, the disparity between Nash and Kidd defensively is made up by the disparity between them offensively going the other way, so it's at least arguable.

Got this from another website. Steve Nash or Jason Kidd, most Lakers fans would get Nash.

Shooting:

1. While Kidd has played 38% more minutes than Nash, Kidd has only hit 14% more three pointers.

2. In terms of True Shooting % (which is a measure of shooting efficiency that takes into account FTs, 2 pt FGs, and 3pt FGs), Nash is 1st among active players and 11th all time. With Effective FG % (which adjusts for the fact that 3-pointers a worth more than 2′s and FTs), Nash is 4th among active players and 16th all time. Kidd isn’t ranked in the TOP 50 among active players in either category.

Scoring:

1. Per 36 minutes, Nash averages 16.9 points and Kidd averages 13.0.

2. Nash averages .468 points per minute, Kidd averages .362 points per minute. In other words, Nash has average 29.3% more points per minute than Kidd.

Passing:

1. Per 36 minutes, Nash averages 9.7 assists and Kidd averages 8.9 assists.

2. In terms of assist percentage (the percent of his team’s assists a player earns while he is on the floor), Nash is 4th in NBA history at 40.95% while Kidd is 7th at 39.8%.

i guess defense isn't a part of basketball and neither is rebounding. something kidd basically embarasses nash in.

F Dwight. Your going to opt out from the best franchise in all of professional sports?

Kobe's too much of a demanding leader from you? You can't fill Shaq's shoes?

GTFO. You and Deron can join forces with Morrow, Humphrries, Farmar, and more trash and go play in the Knicks shadow. loser

I can see McRoberts (and some picks or whatever) going to memphis for mayo thus making Sheed the backup McRoberts currently is (hardly plays)

Exactly. He ain't winning a damn thing in Brooklyn. Have fun with Deron over there, it'll be funny watching you perpetually lose.

Unless of course you want to come here...then I love you.
