We are not going to let Pau go. Not with the PF's we have on the bench, just no way. I don't understand how people are thinking this (possible) signing is signifying Pau's end here.

This is dumb. Perhaps we signed Rasheed b/c we have Troy Murphy and Josh McRoberts coming off the bench as our bigs. :freak2:

Seriously, so sick of Dwight at this point.

Agree 100%. The Lakers are the gold standard for NBA franchises ...

I don't think Dwight can handle the pressure of carrying a franchise. More would be expected of him if he came here. He's similar LeBron in that way ... he would rather not have the expectations of being the top dog.

The Lakers need depth at center and pf. Murphy and McRoberts are not real big men. Signing Wallace doesn't necessarily mean Gasol is going to be traded. I see Wallace replacing a lot of what Odom used to bring (not all of it). He can play defense, post up, or space the floor and shoot 3.

I couldn't agree more. Playing center for the Lakers is an honor and a privilege. If playing with Kris Humphries and Jordan Farmar is more enticing...best of luck, let us know how that goes.

yeah am really growing weary of D12 right now.....yawn

and IF sheed is coming as a backup, surely means Pau is going.....and maybe we are getting a PF back as well as a PG/SF or whatever?

I'm guessing that we're moving McRob for a PG.

NO! Not Deron Williams.

I'm thinking of a role player PG.

The general consensus around the league is that the Lakers are overvaluing Gasol. After all, he’s averaging a career-low 16.6 points despite playing a career-high 37.1 minutes. He’s also coming off of a dreadful showing in last year’s playoffs, when he averaged 13.1 points and 7.8 rebounds. Gasol’s stock has fallen and it’s unlikely that the Lakers will be able to receive an elite player for the 11-year veteran. “I doubt Pau goes anywhere,” said one Western Conference executive. “I love Pau, but the Lakers are asking for way too much.” HoopsWorld

^ You would think he'd want to come here considering all of the great centers we've had. Take over after Kobe retires, be the man in LA. But no, he'd rather go play for New York's version of the Clippers.

I just don't think Dwight has 'it', and I'd be more than satisfied with Drew going forward.

Yes, I am, Jim is in charge now, all moves are made with his approval. If he makes a good one he'll get credit, if he does stuff like this, he gets laughed at, only fair. For example, Janis Carr just tweeted

janis carr ‏ @janiscarr

Rasheed Wallace hasn't played since he retired in 2010, and Buss thinks 'Sheed is better than keeping Gasol?.

Or McBob will start. Lakers have shown they play better with a Bynum + McBob combo rather than a Bynum + Murphy combo. If Pau is gone, we gotta get a stud at PG or nice pieces at PG and SF, no matter how unrealistic it may seem at this point.
