Jordan Hill For A 1st Round Pick?

Jordan Hill For A 1st Round Pick?

Got this from a poster on Lakersground.net

Just now from Dave McMenamin.

Question: Are Lakers looking to make a trade into the 1st round of the draft?

DM: Jordan Hill looks to be a candidate to be traded to get a 1st round draft pick. He's not a "Mike D'Antoni" type player, and D'Antoni doesn't play him much.

Who exactly on the team is a MDA player?

And if MDA can't see the value Jordan Hill brings to the team, to not play him, he's a moron. Is it because Hill actually plays defense and rebounds?

Just one more awful, stupid thing I've heard today. You aren't finding a player better than Hill with any pick you could get for him. I have a solution to him not being an 'Antoni player, FIRE 'ANTONI. Hill is all heart and hustle for cheap, he's exactly the kind of player you want.

Vitti uttered three words that surely applies to how Bryant made two free throws on one leg, walked off the court on his own and processed his rehabilitation plan amid the pain, frustration and tears.

“That’s really cool.”

Everything that has been coming out from the last couple of days has been an absolute joke. I haven't been shaking my head at the Lakers like this in a long time if ever. Everything just wreaks a very poor decision making.

Pretty sad state of affairs.

If this goes thru, MDA will be even more "popular" amongst Lakers fans :man9:

The only reason I can find for sending out Jordan Hill is that he is injury prone. If that is a 2014 First Round pick from like Bobcats, Wizards or Orlando that is not a top-10 protected, sure.

Sounds a lot more like McMenamin's guess based on who has the value to get us a first rounder, who we could afford to spare, and who seems like they wouldn't be a traditional D'antoni fit. Nowhere did I get the sense that D'antoni actually wants Hill gone. After struggling to get used to the roster initially, D'antoni started speaking very highly of Hill once he established him as a consistent part of his rotation in January before he got injured. So not sure where the "he doesn't play him much" part is coming from.

This was an opinion not a report. The lakers aren't trading a player like hill because he's not a d'antoni guy because I don't think they are committed to d'antoni

This is someone asking a question

Mike looked at the roster and formed an opinion based on that

This.

Seems like speculation on Dave's part, not a rumor. I don't think the Lakers have anyone else of anything close to 1st Round material. Unless they trade Pau, which I doubt.

they def should not trade him. hes a great backup PF/C and exactly what we need off the bench. capable of starting too if pau is gone & has worked on his shot. been with the team and worked his a** for us in the playoffs when no one knew anything about him.

i want to keep him over a draft pick danotni prob wont play. just get shawne williams

Meeks, Blake, etc. anyone willing to chuck 3's make or miss. Hill should invite Antoni to his workouts and launch them 3's :man10:

If we could get a first round pick for him that may actually make the Fisher trade look less like a complete salary dump.... Selling high IMHO. Hill a great hustle guy but we're so freaking far away from being a meaningful participant in the playoffs I'd do it if the right guy was there. Hill's not going to ever be more than his is now.... which is a great "piece" of a larger puzzle. Since we have no idea what the puzzle is I see no reason to keep him

Only if we knew we were keeping Dwight. Trey Burke or Michael Carter Williams would be nice.

Hill for a 2014 pick I would be ok with, but 2013 makes no sense.

2013 draft may rival the 2000 draft. Doesn't matter who is available.

I'm happy about that concerning Hill, but I would have liked to have seen Pau traded, however unrealistic.

Yeah.... I don't think I need to state my position on that again..... :man10:
