He'd have to threaten to retire if any team he doesn't want to be on picks him.

That trick didn't work for Billups though.

Roo / last stand: thanks, I was kinda confused, I had the concept wrong.

Do I think Calderon would be good for the Lakers? Yes.
Do I think that Calderon would be an upgrade over Sessions? Probably.
Do I think the Lakers can win a championship with Calderon? No way Jose.

Ramon > Calderon.

If this was Calderon of 4 years ago I might agree with you. But he's horrible now. And SUPER injury prone

The Lakers wouldn't be able to get any player that wasn't a cancer or complete garbage through amnesty because a team that finished worse than them would always have nothing to lose by putting a claim on him and paying them the league minimum. Kinda sucks, but that's the way it works. The Lakers only real option to get a good PG is through a trade because the draft, $3mil exception and amnesty won't get it done.

Can't wait to see what Mitch pulls off the amnesty waiver if we have cap space in 2 years.. Sign Kobe for whatever it takes but immediately use the stretch exception on him.. We could be in position to do serious damage

we might indeed end up with the worst defense at PG in NBA history with Sesh and Jose...lol

anyways, for vet. min he is definitely worth it. He can pass, rarely makes a mistake, is a spark and can shoot the ball even though he is not a natural 3 point shooter

If Raps manufacture Calderon trade it'll be w/team with space or exception to take Spaniard w/no outgoing $ just like Utah did w/Mo Williams

But damn he earns $10 mil though. TPE doesnt fit

So..... with the raptors trading for kyle lowry, hopefully they amnesty him.
Maybe we can get him for the minimum. Would be a really nice back up for Nash to spell his old age for this year and the next 2 years. We know Calderon would love to play with Gasol n the Lakers.

We would probably amnesty Blake.

Zero % chance of the team taking a $10 million a year backup PG.
