Lakers Interested In Courtney Lee

The Lakers are believed to be among the eight teams pursuing free agent guard Courtney Lee (Rockets). If they do land Lee, it would likely have to be in a sign-and-trade because of their salary-cap situation. The Celtics, Grizzlies and Nuggets are also supposedly interested.

Sessions for Lee? That's our only real S&T asset right now... unless they want Barnes for some reason and for some crazy amount.

Lee would be nice on this team, backing up Kobe. Kobe's minutes will (should) come down this season too

If always wondered about Lee. As a rookie, he was a near hero in the finals for Orlando (that missed inbounds alley oop), and then he was shipped away to a historically bad (12-70) Nets team.

That has to have a big effect on a young player, to experience the importance and the stakes of playing at the highest level, compared to the lowest one...

Anyhow I think the guy can play, showed signs of being a gamer against us as a rookie in the finals. He could back up both guard spots and would likely be our 6th man. S&T with Sessions would be awesome...

I've been a fan of Lee for sometime... he'd be a GREAT backup. mMLE? or S&T with Sesh?

Been asking for this guy to get a look for awhile. Along with Dragic, he was big for Rockets in the 2nd half of the season. They have a better chance of getting with him than Lou.

He could get mins here as well. Kinda like Hill did. Kobe takes his break and Lee comes in, Kobe is back and slides to SF and Lee stays at SG, until Metta or whoever comes back in.

I doubt VERY seriously we can afford this guy!! So many more teams can offer him more money!! The Mavericks are interested. I think he would be a great addition but simply out of out price range...

He would be great, but... I don't see this happening.

Agreed. He'd be a hell of a player for us off the bench but I don't see him coming here for the mini -MLE. Guess we can dream though.

Then again, I never thought Steve Nash or Pau Gasol would be Lakers either, so you never know. Mitch with that magic wand of his!

At least with Nash there was a TPE so though it seemed very unlikely at least it was financially possible. I don't see what pieces we have that we'd trade that Houston would want back for this guy. Unless as someone mentioned, S&T with Sessions

Sign and trade Sessions for Lee. Houston desperately needs a PG.

He's exactly the type of guy we need to add alongside Nash. Can back up Kobe, maybe even some 3. He's a decent shooter, and he would be great in the open court with Nash.

All of this is true except for the backup 3. He is why too small to play 3, but a backup 1 or 2 would be perfect

they've used up their mini MLE already, what money do they have? and why would they take Lee when they just signed Terry with Avery starting?

They're still making a strong push for him. Avery is going to miss some time because of his surgery.

I would want him. In fact, if I would want anybody that could shoot decently, run the floor, and give Kobe a rest instead of playing 38 minutes a game. Mitch, do your thing.
