We aren't going to get him, he sucks anyway, maybe 3 years ago, because he's a 8.1 million expiring. Don't want to pay that 16 million luxury tax.

If we aren't getting Beasley for 6 million, we aren't getting any player higher than that, if it means we have to dish out a little extra cheese.

Hawks have themselves a deal if they take any of the following: Most Worthless Player, Krapono, Fisher, Puke, or McRoberts.

Just don't expect to get resigned Hinrich.

You can look at in another way.... Hinrich is an expiring that will be cheaper in his next contract..... a lot cheaper. Beasley is a 5.5 million expiring that will be more expensive in his next contract.... much more.

Kirk will get a two year deal...... Beasley will get a 4 or 5 year one.

If you are a team that needs to get a "Star" to go with a new T.V. deal while not completely alienating the current group of fans and make it seem like you are supporting Kobe and his quest for number 6 you do this kind of move that seems to make no sense..... because viewed from the C-Suite it does make sense.

He will be cheaper for sure because he will be going on 32 and isn't the same player he was in Chicago. If I have to see another 30 plus PG for the Lakers getting a deal with the best years behind him I might tear my eyeballs out. We have Blake for the next 2 years at 4 million, I can't see us signing him afterwards and having probably 8 million in 30 plus PG's that are on the downside of their careers for another 2-3 years.

Exactly..... and that is why trading a first to Atl plus considerations is a better deal for the Lakers than getting Beasley...... at least for their purposes of having the most flexibility at the earliest possible time....

Already a Hinrich thread open. Somehow I don't think we need two.
